Not for the last decade...At least JoePa has kept his program somewhat relevant.

I was kind of hoping Bowden would hang around and continue to drive that program into the ground...When it came to 90's college football, there is no coach or program that I loathed more.

Bowden was forced to retire or give up control and he chose retirement .

FSU was my team growing up as I loved the pro style attack they employed on both sides of the ball along with the gadgets long before most others but sadly they have fallen off as Bowden like any winning coach lost most of his top assistants to other schools and death as was the case with his top assistant who was also his top recruiter , his name escapes me at the moment but he took FSU from the veer to the pro style on O .

The death blow for me as a fan was when they adopted the ( we are good now so we don't actually need to recruit anymore mentality ) that diseases so many top programs nowadays .

Note to schools such as FSU and Wisconsin ... Stop recruiting by reading recruiting rags and actually get out and find that gem that nobody knows about instead of linemen who could double as the winning porker at the local county fair .

Thankfully none of the Bowden boys will be taking over at FSU .
