Boys
1.Howards-They have the most athletic team in the conference and their coach really has them beleiving in his teachings. They excecute the swing very nicely

2.Christian-They have most their team back and had a very good JV team. They are very well coached and will present problems with their athletic ability.

3.Oostburg-It is hard to pick against them for the conference but A. Zimmerman is the most overated player in the conference.

4.Lutheren-Dekker, Baby and Daddy can conexsist without making the other players irate.

5.Elkhart-I have told you guys I have a surprise coming for Elkhart. I know this looks like a hometown pick but having a lot of seniors means they will be much more experience then any Elkhart team has been in a while. The surprise is just another starting quality player.

6.Cedar-How do you guys think that they can be as good as some of you idiots have them being. They lost a ton of seniors and will be depleted. They are not proven winners. They do not have the tradition and Elkharts JV almost beat their JV who is going to be most the varsity guys.

7.Kohler-If anyone thinks that Kohler can do damage lets just think about this. Their three best players are the Peter bros and Wolf. Do you think that the Peter bros are better than Daun Dobson. Their is no way. Wolf is only a soph. They will get to this spot by coaching alone.

8.Random-Ehlen will just have gotten done with a rough season of taking hits while advancing deep into the playoffs. He will not be 100%.

9.Ozaukee-How far can sims carry them. Not too far in my estimate.

MVP-Zimmerman
Coach-Flipse
Most improved-Kopitske

Yeah I do think that he is overated and will not take games over the way that you guys do but, I think that he is the only one that can be the MVP. Howards is too balanced and Lutheren will not be good enough to give it to Dekker. Yes that was a stupid statement about him being overated. I will re-phrase it too not dominant yet.

I think that in the girls everyone will be surprised how good Elkhart will be when they get Kulow back. That will help them a lot.

You guys are over rating Kohler. The Peters are not better than elkharts guards and Christian is the most over rated player in the history of the conference. If his name was not spelled WOLF he would have nothing.

I really agree that random lake girls are going to be good this year. They'll be up near the top, i have to say. And they have pretty young team.

As far as basketball goes I think the CLC will be better next year than it has been recently. I will be curious to see how Christian does and wish him the best. I have played against him and seen Elkhart now SOPH. Brian Mooney guard him and he torched him up. Christian is soft. He need to get another shot other than a hook shot. If you think Christian will get only 10 or 8 a game you are right. Most people think he is going to get 20 and that is overating him. Also Kohler is going to be a lot worse than you people think. The Peter bros are just average role players.

I have to agree with catch9. It is too early to say anything about Wolf. i also agree he has a nice baby hook and should average about 8. He did have bad ankles but have you ever seen him run? Not pretty. He also looks like he cant jump a lick. Has anyone ever seen him dunk? Since he is young he has a chance to get much better if he works hard. I also think he has a chance at all conference honors by his senior year. Easily honorable mention or maybe even second team.

Resorter you need to spend some time worrying about the top teams in the conference and Elkhart aint one of em. They will not get fifth. That will probably go to Cedar Grove. And definitely the top four will be Oostburg, Howards, Lutheran, Christian. Then Cedar Grove and then the dregs: Ozaukee, Kohler, Elkhart, Random. And who is saying anything about the Peters Bros? i have only seen one peters ever play so who cares about the other or Daun from Elkhart? I doubt anyone will pay much attention to teams that may battle for 7th or 8th place. And even if Kohler does have another bad year i doubt they will finish behind Elkhart. I dont know the last time that has happened. I also think Ozaukee is a cinch for last.

Boys Basketball Standing :

1 - Christain - I believe with their size and skill, they will be able to overcome the smaller Howards Grove, and the team of Andrew Zimmerman in Oostburg, and John Dekker in Luthern. Cedar Grove just wont match up defensivley with Meerdink, Veldkamp, and Adams.
2 - Howards Grove - They will be fast, but wont be able to stay with Christain. They are experienced, but very much under sized.
3- Cedar Grove - Althought many people think loosing the whole starting five basically screwed up our team, Cedar Grove will be the surprise team this year. They have people coming from jv and etc. that will step up on varsity. They are undersized with their tallest person at 6'4'', but will be able to stay in the game with their ability to score and play defense. ]
5- Luthern - John Dekker
6- Oostburg - Andrew Zimmerman
7- Random - Ehlen and Weyker will actually keep some games close this year in the post.
8- Elkhart - Even thought this resorter kid says they got a "big" surprise to put them over Cedar Grove and Luthern, it aint ganna happen.
9 - Ozaukee - No comment

1. Christian - people say they've lost a lot of senoirs. but the core of their team, simmons, veldkamp, and adams are all back. not to mention the conference champs at the jv level coming up to support them. with their big three giving them experiance and leadership and all the talent surrounding them its gonna be hard to take them down
2 Oostburg - people may argue that I should have howards next. yes hawards is athletic and experianced. but how the heck are they suppose to match up with oostburg. howards tallest guy is like 6' 2. with zimmermann at 6' 9" and waech at 6' 10" tell me how howards can stop that. not to mention oostburg is extrememly weel coached and even with the loss of huge players they have enoung talent stepping up
3 howards - one word simply defines them. overated. all anyone talks about from last yer were their three sophmore phenoms. yes they were all very good. but everyone seems to forget the fact they lost their best two players including their height. they won't survive on top without horness and plocar to lead them their
4 luthren - little johnny should be enough to keep them on the top half of the division
5 cedar grove - yes they've lost a lot but they know how to pull out close games and they have heart. should be enough to keep them out of the bottom.
6 kohler - is wolf really as amazing as everyone says. no, but he might be in a year or two. peters brothers will keep them from fighting off the lower three
7 random - they have two beasts down low in wyker and ehlen
8 elkhart/osaukee - both will always struggle until they get out of the rut

I agree with everything there. Besides i would have Cg over luthern. Now that i think about it howards wont be as good as ppl say. They are undersized and dont ahve much besides "The Three" and morgen is really the only good one out of them, the other two are jsut decent. I think cg will be able to take both of them, because you guys dont know who cg has coming up, and the back-ups from last year that will be able to take a starting position and be better than luthern and howards. good luck to all clc teams

many people think that oostburg has lost a lot from last year. but that isn't goind to matter. they always bounce back. they had an off year last year but expect them to be back contending for conference once again

Christian Wolf is a good player, but a big reason that everyone is talking about him is because of his dad and uncle. Last year as a freshmen he didn't impress me that much. I like his jump hook and footwork, but he doesn't run the floor all that well or post up hard. As far as his height if he grew 3 inches since last year then he might end up being 6'10" or 6'11". Im sure that as he grows into his body his basketball skills and moves will improve. I think that he will end up being a good player, but I have seen other freshmen make a bigger impact on thier team and not be (for lack of a better word) "hyped-up" so much.

I think christain is a solid big mna, and will be throughout high school. Although some of you guys say that he is 6'8'' already i thought he was only 6'5'' last year. But we'll see. The reason i think most people arent impressed by wolf is because he under the average speed, and should work on getting a lot quicker and faster nad stronger before this season. But he has all high school to get faster. He is a good player otherwise. And yes the only other freshman that made a bigger impact was wilterdink, and i think he made a bigger impact becuase he was jsut as fast a varsity, and could shoot.
