ok so we gotta keep this one pg rated, not the pg13 borderline r rated threads that we got deleted already because were awesome. i posted this on the other thread but it more fits this one

pec laid an absolute beat down on highland tonight. 18-2 was the final. highland could not touch milton, which BigL got his account deleted i believe so we won't be able to get his reaction to that lol. personally im suprised by this game, highland just needs to regroup. there a good team still, one game doesn't change that. pec really sends a message with this huge win though. hopefully barneveld doesn't come out flat against them playing the day after half the team gets back from spain, and the game can live up to the billing

barneveld is in the middle of like a seventeen day layoff due to a spain trip that has like 90 percent of our high school gone overseas. there first game back is pec. should be interesting how they respond.

haha just kidding. but yeah i think a europe trip is more likely to cause a factor than prom. not saying theres excuses either way for whoever loses but yeah, should we turn this thread into the official one for the pec-barn game or make our own for it? im thinking make our own.

Can't believe no one's posted this yet, considering it is all some of you talk about. LOL! According to the monroe times Barneveld beat Pec 6-4. It said Pec's errors killed them. They had 6 & Barneveld had 1. coach Strommen Said Milton Kurschner pitched a good game and that errors hurt.

one performance doesn't make or break whether somebody is overrated. you know i've said before im not able to take a stance on that, milton did just fine in the game. but your giving him a little too much credit. a loss is a loss. i will say i was impressed with how deep into the game he lasted after giving up some early runs, he clearly has some arm stamina. i'm just saying, i want to see the vlasak clerkin pitching match up in game two, but has lee started a game yet this year? is his arm bugging him or are they tryin to save it or is he just better in relief? also it was interesting that he was batting lead off. that kind of surprised me.

yeah it was a pretty sweet game with barneveld prevailing. peterson started for barneveld, monson came in for part of the fourth and the whole fifth, then clerkin came in and closed it. it was really cold outside. the wind was blowing hard. jeglum bombed a homer that might have been a routine fly ball on a normal day but right when he hit it everyone knew it was gone. overall i'd say barneveld looked pretty good for not playing in fourteen days as it was pec who made almost all the errors. either way, its going to be a good rematch on hopefully a warm sunny day filled with burgers and weiners on the grill.

kurschner pitched a hell of a game. he only gave up 6 or 7 hits, with i believe 5 of them coming in the first inning. and i only think that 2 or 3 of the runs barneveld had were earned. it was a hell of a pitching performance by this young man. especially since he has started every game pec has had this season, besides a nonconference game against new glarus.

not to start up this argument again, but no one should every bring up kurschener being an overrated player after this performance against a very good barneveld team.

i'm looking forward to seeing how game two will turn out after watching this game. with all the erros commited by pec and barneveld playing very well. let's see if maybe both teams can play well the next match-up and it will be an even better game - if that is possible.

this game seemed a little dull compared to other pec/barnaveld games of the past, kudos to barnaveld for not letting the cold get to them like pec did at times. It seems that whether it was one thing or another, niether team showed their best stuff... but there should be more games in the future, the next conference game in pec and possibly the regional final (which seems to have become and annual meeting between Pec and Barnaveld)

theres no doubt, but it was early in the season and there were some circumstances that would hold back both teams so it was still a good game considering all that. and i agree 110 percent on the annual meeting at regional final. thats always the best. and barneveld beat argyle tonight 6-4 or something like that. weston peterson got the win i believe. schmitz is throwing him in alot of games early considering all the other guys he has that can throw too. its paying off with nothing but wins so far.

Albany beat new glarus by 10. I left in the 2nd for class and it was like 7-3. I know Boomer Detra & T.J. Zweifel each had a two run home run in the first. I was told Phil Kauk hit a grandslam later on in the game.

barneveld 10 run ruled kickapoo friday night up in La Crosse at the minor league stadium that Logger team plays at. Monson started the game, gave up some runs but as usual the bats from barneveld were crackin. Monson also homered in this game, Clerkin hit just about the hardest line drive i have seen all year that would of gone about 400 feet if the wall wouldn't have stopped it mid air. final score was 16-6. barneveld is averaging 12 runs a game this year, giving up an average of just over five i believe. not too many people are going to be able to score with them.

Batting Lee leadoff is a strategy thing. Coaches do it in games that they expect to be tight. The reasoning is that the leadoff batter will get the most at bats so you want to make sure your best player and best hitter gets to the plate that extra time.

As far as Barneveld's stats, they have a tremendous lineup, but giving up 5 runs per game is not outstanding by any stretch of the imagination. In baseball, good pitching almost always beats good hitting especially in the playoffs. Barneveld needs to get more consistency out of their pitchers. If they cut down on walks and keep the ball off the middle of the plate and they will be fine though with Clerkin becoming the closer it appears.
