I thought this two-part series was interesting. It has some interesting insights on the WIAAs role as well as a look at efforts to monitor steroid/presence/usage at some suburban schools.

I can't speak for football but I have seen guys at the state track meet that I suspected were using some sort of enhancer.

Let me say that I am not a medical person nor any great expert but these athletes stuck out and did not look right physically.

I would hope that a coach regardless of what sport if he/she suspects any steroid use would address it pronto.

Badgeralum, these are pretty serious accusations. I'm assuming you know the damaging effects of taking steroids. Did you take this information to the proper people in Menomonie? This makes the Oak Creek situation look like childs play.

IMO, most D1 and D2 athletes take "enhancers" so this doesnt suprise me. Im sure Menomonie is not the only ones.

I have heard that creatine is illegal to take during the season per WIAA? Is there any truth to this?

that stuff is expensive its almost $1.50 a pill and i see nothig wrong with people taking enhancers if they want to screw themselves up thats there own problem and im sure everyone at one point or another has thought about taking them

Did anyone manage to catch that thing on TLC, "The Man Whose Arm's Exploded"? If you want to see what steroids can do to you, great little documentary to see.
It was called The Man With Exploding Arms and heres a picture of him http://static.flickr.com/36/103629705_05f1e7741c_m.jpg

Young Studt, I understand genetics and hard work --- it is what seperates the men from the wannabes. Both of my sons ran at the state track meet. I've gone to the last six and through those six years I've seen 4 participants that if I was an official I would have made leave a urine sample.
My oldest son still runs track in college. He and his teammates like to pick out the guys on vitamin "S". It is sort of a badge of honor to be able to competitvely participate without using vitamin "S"
I've seen you throw and play football. You have a fine future in front of you. Good luck this Fall and in the Spring.
