This board is intolerable at times...moreso than any other board on this site. Twitter has more levity in regards to MLB.

Why is that?

Baseball. It apparently breeds all those things...plus a misplaced moral superiority. No wonder I've watched and attended more hockey games over the past calendar year.

Can't blame me this time!!! []

As much as I don't agree with what Maldonado did, this is what happens when you start a brawl. This whole thing was slowing down until Snider came in and challenged Gomez. If you don't want to get into the middle of a brawl, then don't start it.

Sunday, April 20th, 12:35 pm CT

PIT: Cole (2-1, 4.74 ERA)

I think the Brewers take 3 if Braun is in the lineup.

They just won against the Cardinals in the only game he didn't play!!! []

We can all chalk that one up to the squirrel finding the nut.

Brewers also won at Boston when Braun sat... So they are 2-0 with him out of the line-up. []

Hey jake..... The Brewers are now 4-1 without Braun in the line-up...

Not so sure you can keep using the squirrel excuse!!![]

And 2-0 against the Cardinals, in St. Louis nonetheless. Color me shocked.

I wonder if Cole had some words with Marte after this hot dogging... [afro]

I had him at 8 seconds from home to first after initial contact.

Good. He brought excitement and energy to the game that was badly needed after the '94 strike. Too many people want players to play with no emotions whatsoever, almost robot like.

Disagree....

There is a BIG difference between getting excited after hitting a game winner when your team was down two runs going into the bottom of the 9th inning and hitting a 400 foot fly ball to center in the third inning.

There may be a difference, but it doesn't matter. Any player can get excited about whatever he wants to. It's not up to another player on another team to decide whether or not it's ok. If anything, it's up to that players (Gomez, Puig, whoever) own clubhouse and locker room. This whole policing the game and unwritten rule crap went out with Bob Gibson (almost 40 years ago, btw).

And TPWG, this whole thing about a player "earning" the right to showboat is double standard and ridiculous. Who gets to decide? How many all stars, gold glove, MVP's does it take? I want this written down so these rules can be written instead of unwritten. And by that logic, why was Cole chirping off in the first place? What has he done to "earn" the right to be angry that someone hit a triple off him? Case closed, end of story. Let's move on to actual baseball.

Jake-I think just about everyone had moved on already....

YOU were the one that brought this back posting the link to the video. Maybe take your own advice?

You brought it back up.

Players will, and always will continue to police the game on the field, as they see fit.
