while the purpose of me posting this message is not to see who people think will win the awards if people want to make comments on that fact it would be interesting to see.

the main reason i am posting this is i was curious as to how many first teamers were selected as i no there is no second team in basketball. and also is the POY taken off first team or are they givin a spot too? any and all information would be appreciated.

First of all, can someone translate to English what exactly it is that Tyrone is saying? That would be greatly appreciated.

Anyways, as far as what I expect for All Conference... For boys I would say that, for the players I've actually seen in action, I figure that we'll see Roscovius from Royall, maybe Wyss from New Lisbon, Jump from Necedah, beyond that it gets a little iffy for me.

Girls is a little bit easier, as I can see Stickney, Neitzel and Berry from NL, Arndt from Bangor, and a couple girls from Cashton being front runners for All Conference, with probably one of those three from NL being player of the year.

I'm assuming your also considering Alexander and Thompson shoe-ins.
Well sir, while I may not agree with what you say, I'll defend to the death your right to say it.

Every thing is funner with a runner!

Cross Country. The 3 miles are easy, but the .1 really hurts!

Of course, I would also think that we'll see one of the Brookwood kids in on that as well (Brueggen, maybe?).
I will not apologize for being awesome.

for boys i see thompson, alexander, brueggen as unanimous selctinons and alexander and brueggen fighting for POY. jump, mcann, burkhardt, dreier, rosco, vieth, kaus, wyss as the others who will be close for first team.

I know Brueggen is one of the top scorers in the conference but the reason is because the guy shoots all the time. I don't know how he is in all his games but the game in Bangor was ridiculous watching the guy play, he shot as much as Brad Skaer. He was shooting threes 2 to 3 feet behind then line. And if someone is going to try to tell me he makes a majority of those shots I'm gonna disagree with that as well. I bet he shot 30% or a little better, not very good.

I would say player of the year is Alexander. Alexander draws more attention than anyone in the conference and still puts up better numbers than any post player. Giving Brueggen the POY award over Alexander or Thompson would be a disgrace.

I'm willing to bet my rediculously low non-government salary that Alexander takes POY.
I will not apologize for being awesome.

Boys: I would say Alexander, easily the hardest player in the conference to shut down and has been doing it for years, reward the man.

Girls: I'm gonna take Berry. Another player who has been getting the job done for years and its about time she gets some recognition for it. If not Berry I would have to go with Arndt for similar reasons, she has been getting it done for 3 straight years and can put up a huge night on any given night.

Boys: I thought it'd be a battle between Alexander, Brueggen and Thompson...BUT, with HHS clinching the title, I'm going to say that Pat's a shoe-in. Of the three, I think that Thompson would be third best this year...the argument can be made for Butch, but I think b/c of the team standings, and with Pat breaking the school record for points (I know it doesn' count, but it may come back to help), I think the vote will go to him. Very consistent player. Butch wouldn't be a bad pick either...he helped to muscle that team to a VERY impressive season...co-POY?
My pick: Pat/Butch co-player

Girls: Anyone else want to untangle this one? In my opinion there AREN'T ANY STANDOUTS...no Heather Witts, Lacy Laacks, Joni Staneks here...so I think this one's up in the air. I don't think a sophomore would win it...although Cashton's Arentz and Wiebel would make good cases...and even the couple of juniors that are solid (Downing/HHS) will have trouble b/c there's a VERY solid group of seniors to contend with...of the seniors, I think that the top 5 would be Arndt (Bangor), Miller(Bangor), Leis (Cashton), Stickney (NL), Berry (NL)...BUT all these kids played on pretty good TEAMS...again, NO STANDOUTS...Bangor's got tough going b/c of their record, I think...as does Cashton...so Stickney or Berry?
Personally, I'd like to think that just cause a team takes first, doesn't mean they have the best player(s)...My vote: Leis...tough, physical player; developed to help offensively, and pretty good on D as well.

*I'm making a pick cause it's no fun if you don't...even if I'm wrong, which I may be...I made a choice...and I like underdogs

I would agree..and with such a solid group of seniors ahead of her...I think it'd be hard for her to pick up votes. Now, Witt and Laack won POY when their teams placed 5th, but look at how they dominated everyone...they were STANDOUTS. Downing-very good player, but perhaps not of that quality (yet).

Regionals start tonight...good luck!

for boys i will take alexander, with butch being second. i think the thing that helps butch is hillsboro and royall were projected high with multiple starters back. brookwood was middle of the pact and butch was lone starter back.

as for girls i think the best player is downing but i believe berry will get it.

I wouldn't even put Downing is the top 5 players in the conference. Sure the girl can shoot, but she has no moves when driving and isn't vocal on the court AT ALL.

My top 5 girls would be in no particular order....

Arndt (Bangor)
Leis (Cashton)
Berry (NL)
Miller (Bangor)
Arentz (Cashton)

I would also throw Stickney in there over Downing. Sure Downing is good, but not elite.

I know it was decided a few weeks ago, but I can't remember who all made it. Should be released soon I would think.
