Seems like a fake panic, good nonetheless.

I read about this earlier today. One thing should be noted...the Air Force informed all the parties that needed to be informed. They called the FAA, NY Emergency Services etc. So the panic is more a problem with the people and because of the AF. Although I would be pretty scared!

I agree. Chalk this one up to the stupidity of the NYC officials that told no one, even the mayor, about it and the guy that thought it'd be a great photo op.

I know what photo op they were talking about though so it kind of makes more sense. It said that there was a photo op with the other air force one a few years ago over mt. rushmore and my economics teacher has two of them in her room. i bet air force one with the statue of liberty would look cool too with all the new yorkers running around in the back.

yeah because it would be hard as hell to photoshop that in there instead lets scare the bejesus out of everyone in the city...

They were going to do another flyby here in Washington DC. They cancelled it though due to the panic that it caused in NYC. I'm sure the results would have been similar though here in DC since the only air traffic over the actual city is the helicopters. All planes land in VA or MD.

On a side note, a guy actually did fly over DC a couple weeks ago. I think it's been a few years since that happened. They evacuated the White House and Capital from what I heard over here.

Sorry, took awhile to get back. DC is going good. The city is great and I love it out here. I can walk or take the subway to pretty much everything. I only drive to work because I leave at 4am and then I drive to get groceries.

The job is going good. We are doing EMT now so I'm kind of useless since I already have it. I just sit around and do things with the paramedics. As far as physical training goes, I'm doing good. At the top of the class for everything we do during PT. So hopefully I finish at the top of my class so that I end up in a good fire house and get a few awards at graduation.

Still kind of in shock that this is even happening. Never thought that I'd be working for one of the most elite fire departments in the world. The surrounding counties actually hate us because we are so aggressive at firefighting. They call us "reckless cowboys", which could be good or bad.

On top of that, about a week after I moved out here, Milwaukee Fire Department sent out letters with the final results from the written test and interviews. I finished with a final score of 103% somehow. I'm ranked #10 on the final list. Pretty decent considering 5600 applied and 4000 passed the written. So things are going good.

Hope everything is well for you guys in Wisco!
