Four Badgers in double figures as Bucky (13-1) stops Penn St (12-2), 89-72, in the Big 10 opener for both teams, Saturday afternoon (12/31) at the Kohl Center in Madison.

Nigel Hayes led the Badgers in scoring with 21 pts, followed by Frank Kaminsky with 18 pts and 14 rebounds, Sam Dekker with 17 pts and Traevon Jackson with 16 pts.

Penn St guard DJ Newbill continued an on-going trend of UW opponents' shooting guards going off on the Badgers for large point totals. Newbill put up 29 pts for the Nittany Lions on 11 of 18 shooting.

Wisconsin shot 64% from the field (30 of 47) for the game while Penn St shot 54%. Bucky also fared well at the foul stripe, sinking 23 of 28 FT's (82%).
