1. GET
2. BRF
3. Aquinas
4. Arcadia
5. Altoona
6. Westby
7. Viroqua

Based on tradition, I see GET hanging on to the conference crown. 2-4 is a toss-up. BRF is second year with a new coaching staff and new offensive system. Might be starting a sophomore at qb. Altoona and Arcadia could move up a notch or two as I don't think there is a big gap between the 2-4 teams.

I am definitely curious to see how Altoona and Aquinas fit in with this group. Aquinas moves back in with larger (but not MVC large) schools after a year battling teams in the tougher SWAL. Altoona, after years of being a Cloverbelt doormat, gets a chance to escape the clutches of that esteemed league, somewhat ironically in a setting with schools larger than those in the C-Belt.

In having watched Altoona, I think they could be turning a corner down the line. With the money they poured into their facility, and solid numbers and athletes, it’s certainly possible they can compete in this league. Just a matter of coaching and turning a corner. Their offense is some sort of option or veer, so if the line play on both ends gets better, things may turn.

To be honest I wanted to see a year or two more of the realignment that happen last year in this part of the state. IMO having G-E-T and Black River Falls in the South Central actually helped raise the conference profile a bit but alas, that  realignment got swallowed up by the statewide one before it really had a chance to settle in.

Altoona and Aquinas look to be bringing back pretty good numbers but a lot of new faces in key positions. Let's hope we get a season to see how this all shakes out.
