realitycheck
Lucky for Ike that the hammer hasn't dropped yet on the players involved in this pre-season hazing incident that just hit the media.  It will be interesting to see what players were involved and what will happen to them.  The good thing is that they are done with the better teams so they might be able to get through the rest of the season with whatever players they have left.

Realitycheck needs one. How ironic. The School District issued a response. The players responsible are done! I embrace the shiny objects, positive feedback for that team that you duly note. No mention of the offense.”The good thing is that they are done with the better teams..” Great post!

Greenfield at Brown Deer - Greenfield over Brown Deer. This is almost the equivalent to a bye. GF relishes the opportunity to boost stats in games like this. Taking up residence in the East division provides plenty of opportunities like this. GF did what they should have last week against Lutheran. They can look ahead to Whitnall next week and it won’t hurt them a bit tonight. However, Joe Koch isn’t walking through that door. After they lose to Whitnall, GF has a free road to the playoffs. It’s literally that easy in this division.

West Allis Central at Cudahy - This used to be a bigtime matchup. How times have changed. In 1990 Cudahy won 6-0 behind Chris McKinney's 181 yards on 19 carries. Cudahy would ultimately make the playoffs and lose to WAC in the rematch in the quarters 14-6.  WAC lose to powerhouse Monroe in the D2 state semi's.

Shorewood/Messmer at Milwaukee Lutheran - ML gave one away last week, it gets easier this week.

New Berlin Eisenhower at New Berlin West - Give me IKE. The dynamics of this game have changed greatly as we know. The official word on which players won’t suit up tonight could change the pick for some people. I will stick with IKE either way. This game just became a lot more interesting is the viewpoint I’m taking.

Earlier in the week I was thinking rivalry schmivalry. That would carry NBW through the first few series maybe. Eventually, teams have to play football. NBW has been too one dimensional to beat good teams. They aren’t like the old Wisco teams that could rely solely on the run and still dominate good teams. However, if IKE is truly depleted, tonight could be a game. Ben Buechel doesn't bowl strikes, he just knocks down one pin and the other nine faint. Three pics in the second half will have that effect.

Decisions had to be made by people in certain positions. It’s difficult to say how many games missed is fair punishment. Some people probably had more of a role than others who were punished. In the end, IKE will still make the playoffs even if they are missing key guys. Their remaining schedule isn’t filled with heavyweights by any means and there’s a few byes in there. Some kids lost an opportunity to play in regular season games. You don’t get those games back. The good news is that people will be available for playoffs. We knew this season most likely comes down to an IKE - CMH playoff game. There might be a chance that game is played sooner than expected now if IKE loses a lot of production and drops in the seeding. But they still can play that game will a full team.

The battle of National Avenue means a lot to both schools. Let’s face it: Life is very different north of National Avenue than it is south of National Avenue, but both teams covet the trophy. We know which team has had the upper hand recently and historically. It’s been a heavy week for New Berlin, so I’d like to inject some humor. Here’s some footage from a rivalry game in 1989 which was won by West. IKE had an absolutely loaded team and traveled to the old swamp at NBW. QB Jeff Pintar of NBW outplayed IKE QB Matt Pierce and NBW pulled off a massive upset. Pierce threw several pics (and NBW dropped a handful of potential pics) in addition to taking some unneeded sacks as he held the ball too long. NBW coach Doug Lange changed his defense for that game and told his team that they were going to dare IKE to throw the ball. He essentially said they were going to make Pierce play qb instead of handing the ball to Dobner. The Packers just used the same line for Mitch Trubisky last week. IKE went home with the loss. I heard the Homecoming King for IKE the next year was a cross country runner instead of a football player. Granger overhauled the offense after the loss to NBW. IKE actually won a playoff game against WAC in 1989 with only 1 completion from Pierce as IKE was going to live on the ground. The power backfield of Dobner, White and Schopf was a safer way to live. Turn up the volume and enjoy hearing the P.A. guy at NBW for a couple minutes of grainy video from a fun era:

Wisconsin Lutheran at Pius XI - Old Wisco might have won this ball game 150-0

South Milwaukee at Whitnall - Whitnall will be ready next week.

Game of Note

Sault Ste. Marie Korah Collegiate (ONT) at Escanaba (MI) (Yes I went there.....) - Can't pick some Canadian team those dudes don't know how to play football.

Just an FYI let's keep the Chutzpah regarding the situation at Eisenhower in line here. No one is in trouble in this thread but I really don't want to start dealing with deleting offending posts up here in Michigan.

Anyone get a look at my Panthers on TV. What a game!!  What a call by Coach Stoltz on the last touchdown!  Have a feeling they will start to pick up steam now!  Looks like it’s a fish fry at Panther Pub and maybe a Greendale ice cream sundae at Ferch’s. The combination of hot fudge and Creme de Menthe is quite the treat. Enjoy your Friday all!

Amped0808,

I understand the struggles of managing a 20 post message board. The cherry was placed on top of the sundae tonight. The IKE class of 2020 reaped what they sowed. Arrogance will take you so far, until you do something dumb. IKE lost to a rival that they should have destroyed, but when you exercise dumb activities, then you need to accept the consequences. The 2020 IKE class lost to West, and you can't change history.

Yup, and now we can move on from your weird pettiness, and just enjoy IKE reaping their own idiocy...it's not as if anyone here other than maybe Melkamania has any ties to IKE, so I'm not sure why you've chose to take the slant you have here? Maybe head over to the Varsity Club?

Have a good night.
