This has to be one of the most fun conference playoff pickems out there.

University School at Martin Luther - If there's any doubt that the Metro Classic is a step up from their old brethren in the Midwest Classic, this game should put an end to that. Martin Luther has turned itself into a winning program, and Level 1 wins are "program wins" for schools like that.

St. John's Military Academy at Racine St. Catherine's - Pity that one domino of Memorial dropping to D4 was RSC getting pushed to D5. I would have loved to see the Angels give the Crusaders their best shot (and they surely would have). Maybe that's a non-con possibility in coming years... in any case, Saint Cat's still felt like they could be a year away in D4 but if they take care of business here, they're as good a choice as anyone to make a run at the D5 golden ball.

Ozaukee at Racine Lutheran - The Racine Purple Lutherans get the conference's first playoff crack at a public school team and there's no reason to believe it won't be a blowout for "RaLu". Watch that score closely, though. How the champs fare here will tell us a lot about the relative strength of the Metro Classic and whether they really do have what it takes to hoist a trophy in November.

Catholic Central at Randolph - BCC has been slugging it out with bigger schools all season and not just holding their own, but getting better every week.  I don't think they have the horses to make a title run quite yet, but I do think they have a win or two in them before it's all said and done.

St. Francis at Lake Mills - The new regime at St. Francis isn't tremendously different from the old, but the wisdom and experience of Sarver on the sideline isn't easily replaced.  With him at the helm I would have picked them here.  Without him, I'll call it for "Legendary" Lake Mills.

Brookfield Academy at Lake Country Lutheran - I'm sure that LCL will welcome the competition of St. Cat's dropping to D5, but the reality is those two teams are set up for a heavyweight showdown in Level 3 that could be the most interesting Milwaukee-area D5 game in, well, forever. The fact that I'm even mentioning this in L1 tells you how little chance I think BA has this week.

University School at Martin Luther - USM played them tough earlier this year, but they are lost offensively without Boyd. This one will reach a running clock, perhaps even by halftime.

St. John's Military Academy at Racine St. Catherine's - It's been a nice resurgent season for the Lancers, but it ends in running clock fashion here. I don't like RSC's chances to win the gold ball again, but their side of the bracket is open for a deep run.

Ozaukee at Racine Lutheran - RaLu is sweating things a bit more than it appeared they would, Springs and then MP/Mondovi is a bit of a gauntlet to get to State. Tenner sits 500-ish yards out from the record. They may try and get it in the first two weeks...of course such a thing is dangerous with games likely to get out of hand early.

Catholic Central at Randolph - Going with this one on conference strength. Randolph struggled with a Deerfield team that SJNMA took down handily. BCC has put in a good shift every week in the Metro Classic, have remained healthy and should be able to have their way the first few levels of the playoffs.

St. Francis at Lake Mills - SF will benefit from getting out of the Midwest Classic next year, but they need to enjoy this playoff appearance because they won't be automatic going forward. Lake Mills has some quality to them, a win over Onalaska and competed with Menomonie into the second half. They probably represent the only team who could even dream to push CMH on that side of the bracket.

Brookfield Academy at Lake Country Lutheran - I'm not sure LCL is on the level they have been, but it does set up well for them to get back to CR if they can eventually get by RSC.

University School at Martin Luther: This was a close game in the regular season but with Boyd down with an injury, Luther should get some more breathing space in this one.

St. John's Military Academy at Racine St. Catherine's: Once again St. John's gets the shorter end of the stick in terms of seeding but this happens when ineligibility issues occur. RSC finds themselves in position to make a run to level 3 but after that, it will depend if LCL is still in the playoffs.

Ozaukee at Racine Lutheran: Ra Lu shouldn't have any issues here.

Catholic Central at Randolph: BCC probably got the best region they could and could make a nice run out of it if things fall right.

St. Francis at Lake Mills: Lake Mills would've been a top seed in the SE but that darned CMH team had to drop down a division.

Brookfield Academy at Lake Country Lutheran: I could see LCL making it back to Madison.
