Racine St. Catherine's at Marshall - St. Cat's schedules a team closer to their own level, taking a long bus ride out into south-central Wisconsin. Give me the Angels (again and as usual).

Johnson Creek at Shoreland Lutheran - Interesting game from a conference-strength perspective. The quality of play in the Metro Classic has been relatively strong the past few years which is about all I have to go on in picking the Black Lutherans.

Friday, 8/30

Living Word Lutheran at Catholic Central - BCC could have won last week. They will win this week.

University School at Martin Luther - GML rolls.

Dominican at Palmyra-Eagle - The thing that scares me about Palmrya-Eagle if I'm Dominican is that they're sort of a Waukesha County school.

Waupun at Racine Lutheran - Purple Lutherans keep tuning up for the conference schedule.

St. Thomas More at St. Francis - This may not be your father's Mariners, but it sure as heck doesn't feature your grandpa's Cavaliers.

Saturday, 8/31

Kenosha St. Joseph's at Hope Christian - Another conference-strength pick.

Toss up(I know nothing about Palmyra-Eagle so I can’t realistically make a good call on this one) but I’m gonna go with Palmyra here.

Racine St. Catherine's at Marshall - Marshall's had some good teams in the past, but I don't think this is likely to be one of them. Should pose a bigger challenge (*sigh*) for the Angels, but my guess is they still coast. If this game is tight...*facepalm*

Johnson Creek at Shoreland Lutheran - My eyes in the sky tell me Shoreland was very fortunate to get a win over a completely re-tooled MPS team in Week 1. JC was pretty good two years ago, but that talent has dipped as guys have graduated. Still they return a very good dual-threat QB. and some guys from those teams. They know how to win and that will help here.

Friday, 8/30

Living Word Lutheran at Catholic Central - BCC did as I thought they might and turned their season opener into a grinder. Take away Muellenbach's TD run and they generated almost no offense though. Work in progress. LWL had an interesting Week 1, having to end their game early due to injury concerns. Without knowing for sure (as they may have been down players heading into the game), I have some ideas about what may have happened in that game to cause them to lose more kids and suddenly cite safety as a reason to end the game. Just speculation though. Their situation is precarious (half the roster are freshmen of varying sizes) and will have to be monitored throughout the season. A lot of opponents holding their breath, no doubt.

University School at Martin Luther - Here we are all worried about Martin Luther losing Crawley-Reid and they go and unleash Air Hoppert on us. Too bad coach didn't stick around WAC through, say 2021.😎 Is Boyd really not playing QB for USM? Not sure I get that.

Dominican at Palmyra-Eagle - This could legitimately turn into the longest and highest scoring game in state history. Two unrepentant air attacks going at it. Kevin Patrowsky standing by with the WFCA record book at the ready (hey, add Domincan's Bo Bennett to your all-time passing yardage list, he finished with 5,900+!...and the kid that replaced could turn out to be better. Throws a better ball). Should be fun, but don't expect to be home before midnight. Speaking of midnight and clocks ticking, we're pretty close to all these Palmyra-Eagle students turning into Mukwonago Indians.

Waupun at Racine Lutheran - Saw a little bit of HUDL film from Waupun/St. John's. Yes, the military academy has a couple newbies who can play, but wow, Waupun looked dire. Tenner gets a quick two bills and sits the second half.

St. Thomas More at St. Francis - Is STM running a new offense? I noticed Boelkow carried the ball a lot. I applaud anything that gets the ball moving towards the LOS quickly for a struggling program. Can't get cute when you ain't pretty. SF had some issues with Vincent's speed-and-size in Week 1...that likely won't come into play again until the LCL showdown.

Saturday, 8/31

Kenosha St. Joseph's at Hope Christian - You always hope that HOPE finds some level of continuity...but way-too-much of a revolving door over there for that to be. Not much leadership in the school as a whole.from what I gather. KSJ wasn't particularly great in Week 1, but they won't need to be here either.

Racine St. Catherine's at Marshall - Should be another pretty easy win for St. Catherine's after a dominant showing from last week.
Johnson Creek at Shoreland Lutheran - This one is a bit of a toss-up. Johnson Creek has been more consistent in the past couple seasons than Shoreland Lutheran, so I'll give them the edge in this match-up.

Friday, 8/30

Living Word Lutheran at Catholic Central - Catholic Central had the more impressive loss compared to Living Word Lutheran. That being said, this will probably be a closer game.
University School at Martin Luther - I don't see University School competing at the same level as Martin Luther; should be an easy win for ML.
Dominican at Palmyra-Eagle - This will be a game to watch. Both of these teams have improved a lot since last season, and I think they are at a similar level in competitiveness. I see this being a very close and exciting game.
Waupun at Racine Lutheran - Waupun just hasn't been too good lately, so Racine Lutheran should have this one in the bag.
St. Thomas More at St. Francis - St. Thomas More had a tough loss to KCL, and that should continue against a tougher MWC opponent.

Saturday, 8/31

Kenosha St. Joseph's at Hope Christian - St. Joseph's has made some decent strides at becoming somewhat competitive in the Metro Classic recently, so they should find an easy win against a struggling MWC team in HOPE.

That Dominican game finished 10-8...I guess they cancelled each other out...
