Brookfield Central at Brookfield East - BC is really all Lampkin offensively this year. The Lancers simply couldn't match up in the trenches with Marquette either. That doesn't bode well against a physical Spartans squad who can hurt both in the air and on the ground, as well as suffocate you defensively.

Sussex Hamilton at Marquette - Impressive and thoroughly dominant showing from the Hilltoppers on Saturday. Given Hamilton's struggles (last week with Erato's return not withstanding) offensively, it's hard to see the Chargers generating much, if any, offense, in this one.

Wauwatosa East at Menomonee Falls - Tosa East appears to be able to slow the run, but for the first time in a hot minute, Falls has the ability to hurt you through the air as well. Only thing going in the Red Raiders' favor is that Falls will be playing on a very short week.

Wauwatosa West at Waukesha North - North played well early, but could not get pressure on Blount and eventually capitulated after going down 10 in the third quarter last week as the Classic 8 Glass Ceiling basically remains impenetrable for them. Playoffs will be just out of reach for the Northstars again, sadly. That leaves this a bit of a "trap" game. North should win, but Tosa West has enough to make you worry, particularly if the Northstars don't come into the game sharp.

Germantown at West Allis Hale - Germantown went out last week and shut down their C8 opponent a week after stifling Hamilton. I'm not sure I see a running clock in this barring some defensive and special teams scores, but Germantown's defense should make things miserable for the Huskies.

Brookfield Central at Brookfield East - The Lancers are who we thought they were... they ARE who we THOUGHT they were... but nobody let BC off the hook last week. The sledding gets no easier against a crosstown rival itching to reclaim whatever passes for a traveling trophy (maybe a Patagonia fleece? a Vineyard Vines longsleeve T?) in Brookfield. I'm told Vegas set the over/under on total completed passes in this game (both sides) at 11.5.

Sussex Hamilton at Marquette - It's nice to get one of the big bets right. I miss the old confidence points because I would have bet it all on MUHS to shut down BC last week, and they did a better job of that than I expected. Now they head into the back half of the schedule on the back of a rediscovered running game, a lights-out defense and a passing game that found its groove in their biggest rivalry showdown this season. I doubt anyone there has forgotten how Hamilton physically manhandled an undermanned Hilltopper squad two years ago, so they shouldn't get too cocky, either.

Wauwatosa East at Menomonee Falls - Falls' impressive early wins are fading into the rearview mirror, and it's starting to leave me wondering if they won't look more like a paper tiger come playoff time. Probably unfair, but I'm not convinced their starters would have beaten Waukesha West. Maybe we'll find out in a few weeks. Tosa East is a great fit for the Woodland, meanwhile.

Wauwatosa West at Waukesha North - Tosa West is okay and might even be the better team all-up, but in a winner-take-all scenario I'll take the C8 team with the prolific QB and the UW recruit playing WR.

Germantown at West Allis Hale - How real is Germantown's defense? They likely won't be tested by the underclassmen Hale is relying on right now, but if their offense keeps struggling to score this could be closer than people think.

Granted their starters had 17 days off, but I saw nothing from Falls yesterday against a Tosa West team that would be fighting for a Woody-West crown that would lead me to believe otherwise...but it seems that when Falls looks underwhelming is when they tend to go on playoff runs too...*shrugs*

Brookfield Central at Brookfield East: BC got flattened early on by MUHS and couldn't rely on Lampkin on having a big game in the second half. Here comes rival B'East who could do the same to them.

Sussex Hamilton at Marquette: MUHS proved it's still a force to be reckoned with after shutting down BC Saturday.

Wauwatosa East at Menomonee Falls: Falls nearly had Karma bite them as TW was hellbent on pulling off the upset Monday. They won't have that issue here against TE.

Wauwatosa West at Waukesha North: Could really go either way here.

Germantown at West Allis Hale: Well that was uncalled for SH. Perhaps Hale on the other hand could show some more improvement after that performance last week.
