Dominican at Assumption - This was a tight game last year, and Assumption returns quite a few linemen, although the players (mainly the LBs) who gave Dominican a lot of issues are gone. Dominican is real low on numbers and will have some inexperienced guys thrown into the fire. That said, they also have some playmakers back, and the young QB got some valuable snaps a year ago. Probably will be relatively low-scoring, but I'm not sure Assumption can score with the Knights.

Marathon at Abbotsford - Marathon struggled last year, but still won this matchup. Marawood power.

Loyal at Ellsworth - Winnable for Loyal, but graduation losses may hurt in the early-going.

Crandon at Gilman - Crandon struggled mightily a year ago and should be better, but the NLC has long-struggled out-of-conference (Gilman put two shellackings on playoff-bound Wabeno/Laona the last two seasons). Three-time state champion Gilman heads into their final 11-man season with some optimism, though a few holes need to be plugged and there's not exactly a lot of bodies to fill in.

Tomahawk at Greenwood - Keep an eye on this one. Based on shear school-size, Tomahawk should find a way to win, but the Hatchets have to replace a ton, while G'wood has nearly everyone back.

Pacelli at Owen-Withee - Some young talent in the O-W program, but it's tough to win at any level with a thin group of upperclassmen.

Athens at Rib Lake/Prentice - Athens should have a better season, but they were so far back a year ago it's hard to see too big of a leap in 2019.

Augusta at Thorp - Thorp with a long way to go, but there's some room for optimism this year and this old Cloverbelt-Small matchup is a winnable game for them. Hopefully the weather stays away this year if the find themselves with a chance in Week 1.

Dominican at Assumption: Both teams are hurting for numbers. Perhaps Dominican could scrounge up one more playoff team this year. Assumption needs to identify would could produce on offense early one.

Marathon at Abbotsford: Marathon should have a bounce back year after a 2-7 year last year. The question is how far does Abby fall back after losing major production from last year.

Loyal at Ellsworth: Same question applies to Loyal. Could they fall to the point that one of the other conference foes jump them? Stay tuned especially when league play starts.

Crandon at Gilman: I though Gilman would be hurting for talent but it looks that they should be fine in their final year of 11-man.

Tomahawk at Greenwood: This game will be interesting to set the tone for Tomahawk this year. Should Greenwood win here, the Hatchets could be in for a long year.

Pacelli at Owen-Withee: O-W should see some improvement as the season goes on but youth will hurt them early on.

Athens at Rib Lake/Prentice: Same applies for Athens but they have a more of a hill to climb to get back to relevance.

Augusta at Thorp: Thorp must be cursing Mother Nature after the weather robbed what could've been a win against Wabeno/Laona last year. Augusta has found life in the Dairyland not much better than life in the Cloverwood in football. Could really go either way.
