Mukwonago at Arrowhead - Arrowhead couldn't take out a wounded CMH team, so that tells you a bit about them being "back." I keep harping on this because I keep hearing it from people who clearly haven't seen AHS play. Mukwonago was slowed mightily by Muskego, but who isn't these days? If the Indians do what they've done all year, they should win by two scores here.

Kettle Moraine at Muskego - Offensive breakout for the Lasers last week, but that's very much an anomaly for this team. 35-0 at halftime, the question is which Muskego back goes over 200 this week?

Oconomowoc at Waukesha North - North needs this one to keep their playoff hopes alive, but they need to be careful, this Oconomowoc team isn't great, but they've shown to be a pesky team at times, and North has shown susceptibility to getting down when things aren't rolling as they expect. Feed Dike and they should be fine though.

Catholic Memorial at Waukesha West - For CMH, this is a very similar matchup to last week, just against a better QB. If CMH's LBs can dial up a little pressure on Bliount it could make all the difference. CMH should be able to score enough to win here, can they stop the Wolverines enough? I think so, but don't be surprised if this is a "down-to-the-last-possession" affair.

On a side note, if (and it remains a real possibility) they fall into D4, how many running clocks will CMH put up in the playoffs? 😳

West Allis Hale at Waukesha South - It's tough to pick Hale over a C8 team, but Hale has showed a few flickers of life in the GMC this year, South has been essentially non-competitive all year long.

Mukwonago at Arrowhead - Mukwonago is really looking like the second-best team in this conference this year. Seriously. Holding Muskego to 24 looks better and better by the week. Meanwhile, I'm struggling to understand why Arrowhead can't get back to where we'd grown used to seeing them.

Kettle Moraine at Muskego - If they could clone Wedig and stick him in every gap along the front, KM could slow Muskego down enough to keep this close. With that out of the question, however, this one turns into a coronation for the Warriors as they clinch the conference title.

Oconomowoc at Waukesha North - It feels like everyone's pulling for North right now.

Catholic Memorial at Waukesha West - What's happened to Memorial's defense? This realistically looks like a potential shootout as West continues getting better every week. Given that Muskego is the class of the league, you have to wonder if the conference might be a little down this year... along with Mukwonago, these Wolverines will be the C8 team to watch once the playoffs start, because their success (or not) will have a lot to say about that.

West Allis Hale at Waukesha South - I might be alone here but I feel like Choate and Scherer are players on the rise and give Hale something to build around. They'll need more than two guys to make much noise most weeks, but it might be enough to carry them against South.

CMH was fortunate to play Mukwonago early.

As far as Arrowhead, let me posit this:

They're not the physically dominant team they used to be under Taraska. Their move to a spread-type offense under Malling paid early dividends as they had the talent/depth to force their will on people, but I think it's ultimately sapped the "swagger" from the program. Just look at Arrowhead's running stats the last few years. They're not good. This has effects on both sides of the ball.

Franklin seems to remain the exception that proves the rule when it comes to sustaining real "success" with a non-ground-and-pound based offense.

When Joe Koch came back from Arizona, he first intended to run spread concepts but soon realized to win in Wisconsin you have to be able control the LOS and run the football.

That was 30 years ago. Contrary to what many hot-shot coaches seem to think...that hasn't changed.

Kettle Moraine at Muskego
Oconomowoc at Waukesha North
Catholic Memorial at Waukesha West - To answer DB's question: five, might as well give the team their trophy and medals as soon as the group assignments are announced if they go D4. In my opinion Lake Mills is probably the best team in D4 right now... CMH wins 42-7.

Mukwonago at Arrowhead: It seems every time we here hype about Arrowhead returning to "form" there comes a game they should win they punt away. Last week was one of them. Muk comes in and does it again to the Warhawks.

Kettle Moraine at Muskego: Warriors keep rolling along.

Oconomowoc at Waukesha North: I expect a close game here. North just needs to feed Dike and they should be fine.

Catholic Memorial at Waukesha West: Another week and another batch of "CMH to D4?" hype will continue.

West Allis Hale at Waukesha South: This is the set up the C8-CMH crossover should of went by, not by the standings a few years back for the first two years of the set up.
