Badgers we picked to finish 3rd in the B10 West. End up as arguably top 7-8 team in the country. IDC how they played yesterday, this team kicked some serious butt this year and I think next year will do even bigger things. Hats off to all the coaches and players.

I posted this in the other thread, but...

This team was more talented that perhaps they were given credit for, but it just seems that at most big moments they always found a way to stand in their own way and this was no exception.

Regarding QB play/the offense, Coan had some groaner moments this year, still I thought he showed to be more than capable, but the passing game in general needs overhauling. At no point this year did it seem like they schemed appropriately for the talent at hand. Granted Chryst's schemes rely heavy on TEs, and only one of their top five stayed healthy, but still...I think it may be time to move on from the Rudolph/Chryst offensive braintrust.

Failing to rise to the occasion in the biggest moments is becoming this entire athletic program's identity. That'll need to change.

They also lose a lot of contributors. I don't anticipate a huge dropoff as there's still plenty of talent to step in, but the window of relevance in CFB for all but a few teams seems to be shrinking every year...and at times I find myself wondering if this is really the staff to keep Wisconsin within arms' length of that.

i guess i see it the opposite way, we have never been closer to the top echelon of football teams. and that is with average to slightly above average qb play. now we have Graham Mertz on campus, lets see what he brings to the table.

They aren't near the top echelon of football teams.  They aren't close to the top.  The drop off from the top 5 or 6 teams is significant.  Without a huge boost In recruiting, it isn't realistic to expect them to ever be in the top echelon.

Not good to disagree with a HOF inductee, but I DISAGREE

Oregon will probably finish no lower than 6th.  I suggest you watch this years Rose Bowl because it is very obvious you did not watch it yet.
Once you watch it you will see that the drop off is not significant.

I watched every snap.  I dont care where they finish, Oregon isnt in the top echelon eithe .  I'm not talking a single game or a single season.  I'm talking as a program.  Teams like Alabama, Ohio State, Clemson, LSU, Oklahoma are ina different atmosphere.  They don't need a special class to succeed.

Sure Bama was beatable this year after Tua went down.  But in a best of 10 series against those powers, Wisconsin wins maybe 2.
