I’m going with Park for a few reasons. 1. They’re my alma mater and I don’t think I could pick against them even if I wanted to. 2. Park is supposed to be a good defensive squad, and I think the Panthers will give Washington a tough time. The only thing that may swing things in Washington’s favor is Park being without head coach Jim Betker. The system is in place so I think even without coach Betker I think the Panthers will be able to handle Washington. It’ll be a good game for sure, but I think the veteran Panthers get the job done against the Purgolders. If this were Nicolet that Park was against then we wouldn’t be having this debate and Nicolet would be the heavy favorite. With Long being Ineligible(so I’ve heard) I don’t think Washington has enough to stop the Days-Canady tandem.

Park is such an odd program to me. Always chock full of talent, but never able to get over the hump in that sectional. It seems that under Betker they have always struggled with well-coached MPS competition. Hence, why I'm picking Washington. The Purgolders have a ton of talent beyond Long and didn't fall apart without him out in California last year.

What's intriguing is now that the Panthers have been moved into the Madison-area sectional let's see if anything changes. This would be the year to do it given the roster.

I think it's imperative Mr. Days start providing more scoring from the post. That's the key needed to unlock wins in the big games.

They took care of a MPS school in the Playoffs last year in a cracking game. The Panthers can score, losing Farrel hurts a bit sure. I’m sure the Panther coaching staff has found some solid bench players out of the program.

I was at that game. Wouldn't put that particular Riverside team in the pantheon of great MPS teams and Park had their hands full that day.

The one that always sticks out to me was that pole-axing from Hamilton back in the 2010 sectional final.

Hope the Panthers can get over the hump though. That's talk for March however. Should be a good game with Washington. Wish I could be there.

that 2010 game still gives me chills every time I hear it come up. I was at that game and I was a Junior at Park that year. The beating that Brook East put on Park last year was awful to watch. Hardly anything Park did fell and everything East did fell.
