Wausau East at Rhinelander - It is amazing what happens when a team leaves a conference sometimes. After two weeks as an independent, the Lumberjacks already look like a better team this season. This week will be a tough task, but should be a good game, I think Rhinelander will have just enough to win.
If you call losing to a school half your size (1100 vs. 550) by 15 points and then barely edging a three point victory against a school not even a third your size (1100 vs 300) then, sure, I guess they look better. [rotfl]

A win is a win. Through 2 games they look better. Enrollment doesn't always matter.

It's kind of ironic here then that Rhinelander is proving that themselves this year.

Two bad losses to much smaller Prescott (who probably won't win another game this year) and Tomahawk tell me Wausau East is easily the prohibitive fave this week. At least Osceola and Southern Door have had a good run recently.

Apparently the big basketball player not playing this year really crippled the Hodags despite returning a lot of experience. Mystifies me.

And as things would have it, this'll probably be the game I'm at on Friday. [rotfl]

Appleton North at Fond Du Lac - This is the game of the week in the conference as it is almost a must win for Fondy. If Fondy loses they have two loses in conference play, granted the rest of their divison is weak and they should still win it. North still has Kimberly on the docet so a loss and they still have a chance. Fondy wins late.

Appleton East at Neenah - After a huge win against SPASH, Neenah got pounded by Appleton North. Somehow the patriots are 2-0 this season. Neenah should get back on track as their offense is too much.

Kimberly at Stevens Point - I am trying to make sense of this team. They get blown out at home by Neenah, but then travel four hours to knock off Hudson. I believe the team in week two is the true team they are. With that said, if they cant knock Kimberly off, I have no clue who will. Some one has too eventually right?

Menominee (MI) at Kaukauna - Kaukauna is riding high after scoring an upset win over Hortonville last week. Wouldn't shock me if they make it two in a row or possibly four in a row as Marshfield and Oshkosh West linger after this week.

Marshfield at Hortonville - The Polar Bears take out their frusteration from last week on the TIgers.

Oshkosh North at Wisconsin Rapids - Red Raiders have proved they may be the team to beat in the VFA West this season while the tough start for Spartans continues.

D.C. Everest at Oshkosh West - a surprising 2-0 start for the Wildcats, while DCE sits at 0-2. I feel this is a must win for the Evergreens and that alone will give them their first win.

Wausau West at Appleton West - Wausau West has not gotten off to the start they have hoped for while the Terrors had a nice rebound win although still not impressive early on. With Kimberly lingering in a couple weeks along with the Lightning, now is the time they need to put together their best game plans.

Other game of note

Wausau East at Rhinelander - It is amazing what happens when a team leaves a conference sometimes. After two weeks as an independent, the Lumberjacks already look like a better team this season. This week will be a tough task, but should be a good game, I think Rhinelander will have just enough to win.

TBD. I'll be stopping at Mike Webster Stadium on my way up to our cabin (about another 15 minutes north) since I apparently can't get out of work as early as I wanted to Friday for the first time ever...[] ...it'll depend on whether or not anyone already up there goes out for the Badgers game.

[h]Appleton North could possibly upset the Papermakers[/h]. I don't think it will be SPASH. SPASH was down 21-7 to Hudson late in the 3rd qtr and won it on a 33-yd FG with 10 seconds remaining.

[h]Oshkosh West is NOT 2-0[/h]. The Wildcats were defeated at home by Marshfield in the season-opener.
