Friday 8/18

Adams-Friendship at Lakeside Lutheran: A-F could be heading for a down year. LL looked like the second best team at the WLC Scrimmage. Could go either way.

Delavan-Darien/Williams Bay at Lodi: Toss up. D-D should be in the playoff hunt in the Southern Lakes. Lodi should be the early favorite for the North crown. Home edge here.

Lake Mills at Marshall: The South was bad last year. Not sure that'll change this year. Mills by a few scores.

Poynette at Palmyra-Eagle: P-E's transition to the Trailways has not gone as planned. Pumas should roll here.

Columbus at Ripon: First regular season meeting between these two since 1995 (one playoff game in 2005). Columbus seems to have more talent here though the Tigers are finally getting things figured out.

Watertown Luther Prep at University School: USM seems to be second best team in the Midwest Classic at this point. Prep is still rebuilding.

Elcho/White Lake at Belleville: Belleville should roll.

Brookfield Academy at Cambridge: Toss up again.

Catholic Central at New Glarus/Monticello: CC will endure some more growing pains this year. Would not be surprised if this went the either way.

Deerfield at Waterloo: Meh.

AF at Lakeside Lutheran - LL looks to be rebounding after an uncharacteristically down season. I expect it to go either way, but I think a lot of A-F's success was carried by its departed senior class.

DDWB at Lodi - I believe Lodi will also rebound. Winning culture has been in place for years there. I respect DD and think they'll be solid in the SLC, but I gotta give Lodi the edge.

Lake Mills at Marshall - Not expecting much from the Cardinals at the outset, even if they're picked to win the South, which will once again, be a down conference.

Poynette at Palmyra-Eagle - Poynette rolls.

Columbus
at Ripon - I think Columbus wins too, but there's a good deal of departed talent here.

WLP at USM - USM big.

Elcho-White Lake at Belleville - Curios to see how that matchup worked out. Belleville please.

Brookfield Academy at Cambridge - Not sure. Cambridge was awful young. Inclined to take a chance.

BCC at NGM - NGM is an underrated team, crazy as that sounds.

Deerfield at Waterloo - Echo. Meh.

Wisconsin Heights at Oakfield - I'm taking a chance on alma mater. Oakfield did pummel them last year though...

these picks of mine are kind of gut feeling and out of the blue as I'm not familiar with many kids in the conference anymore and which teams have some firepower. A lot of gut feeling picks, especially the first part of the season. With that being said here we go...

LL
Lodi
LM
Poynette
Columbus
University school
Belleville?
Brookefield Academy
NGM
Loo- in a toss up
Heights I guess.

Again, do not know much about any team, could be an interesting year, all part of the fun.
