I agree DKelly, seeing the message board go quiet once the football season is over is never fun. On some of the other conference message boards that I check for basketball (updates, final scores, or even predictions), I didn't very much so that's why I covered the SWC and SWAL this season and if I missed a game or two, my bad.

Boys' hoops final score from tonight (Sectional Semifinal):

Lodi 58, River Valley 46 (Lodi feasted on the baseline all game long though RV returned the favor by going long range yet it wasn't enough)

In a couple of minor notes in the game - Baraboo's gym looks better with the new bleachers sporting the school's colors and having one of Lodi's most famous residents sing the national anthem drew a big applause from the fans.

Great year in boys' basketball in the SWC with a lot of strong teams and hopefully, next season, one team can really make a big run.

Girls' hoops final scores from last night (Regional Semifinals):

D3:

Dodgeville 36, Prairie du Chien 26 (the Dodgers never let Prairie find their rhythm offensively for half of the game as they won and now host Madison Edgewood in the regional final)
Richland Center 54, Wisconsin Dells 38 (RC took the lead in the first quarter and never relinquished it to the host Chiefs after that. Liegel and Drury each had 19 points to lead the Hornets in scoring. Center now heads to Adams-Friendship to face the Green Devils in the final)

D4:

Fennimore 40, Lancaster 28

Good luck to the teams from the SWC still in the tournament.

Girls' hoops final scores from last night (Regional Finals):

D3:

Madison Edgewood 55, Dodgeville 52 (The Crusaders pull off a surprise on the road at Dodgeville with a key third quarter and free throws made in the second half to win. Kara Crowley nearly sent the game into overtime with a game-tying three but the ball rim out)
Adams-Friendship 57, Richland Center 43 (RC didn't have a solution in stopping the Green Devils' forward Emma Rodenburg who put up a career high 32 points on the Hornets' defense as top seeded Adams won the regional title at home. Richland Center was guided by Leigh Drury (15 points) and Brookklynn Liegel (13 points) despite the loss)

A tough way to finish the season yet the SWC will be a solid league in girls' basketball next year.
