Boys' hoops final score from yesterday (Sectional Final):

D4:

Blair-Taylor 62, Cuba City 58 (the Cubans nearly held off a dramatic comeback by B-T I in the game's final minutes, but to no avail sadly. Cuba struggled at the stripe (shooting barely over 50 percent) while the Wildcats put on a clinic (and nearly five shots from being perfect for the whole game). Dalton Soto and Preston Droessler both put on an offensive show for the fans in attendance. Cuba City certainly defied the odds in nearly winning the game and advancing to state)

Girls' hoops final scores from last night (Regional Finals):

D4:

Cuba City 61, Fennimore 24 (CC took the lead from the opening tip and rolled past the Golden Eagles at home)
Mineral Point 51, Brookwood 42 (the Pointers outlasted the Falcons to move onto the sectionals)

Ash, what a game eh????????It has been a great opportunity for the Wildcats to play Cuba City and the legendary program that Cuba and Jerry Pettigoue have created. What a great honor it is to play so all is well. Cuba will be tough next year the way it looks! Wow!

The Cubans will be a factor next season as long as their key players who do return avoid the injury bug and stay at the top of their game. Dominican may be the perennial favorite in D4 with Stone back, Cuba City will be a team that won't be overlooked. As for the game, it was highly entertaining and worth the price of admission and free throws decided the game.
