New Question...

Seeing what Whitewater did to EC two weeks ago and seeing how Point barely got by, does this show WW's loss to point was more of a fluke...or does it show that Point may not be the most talented team, but they are a damn good team who can find ways to win ball games at the end?

Seeing WW only win by a TD against Stout even with a back up qb was kind of a shock to me as well. I can't get a feel for this WW team and its going into the last week of the regular season. That's disappointing as well.

I think by themselves because of the head to head.

UWSP and Whitewater are co-champions, but UWSP gets the automatic bid to the playoffs due to the tie breaker. Doesn't matter, Whitewater will surely get an at large bid. Great day for Steven's Point athletics (football, soccer, basketball...)

Head-to-head doesn't matter in conference standings, unfortunately. Officially, it will go as both teams tying for the conference championship. If I were a Pointer fan, I would definately consider myself the true champion.

then river falls should feel like the true champion because they beat Point by 6 and Point beat WW by 1 []

Yeah I'm being totally sarcastic but I don't see how Point should feel like the true champions outside of the fact they beat the champions and knocked them off their perch...or at least joined them on top of it...

Had River Falls been tied at 9-1 I might see your argument. It would probably have to come down to point spreads or strength of schedule for the tie breakers. If the conference championship was a tie then both WW and Point should have had automatic bids to the playoffs however they did not. The selection committee did manage to have a tie breaker to determine who recieves the automatic bid.

This really should not even be an issue because WW should have won every game this season. They played a weaker schedule than last year with last years loss coming at the hands of a division 2 school in their house and also defeating Mary Hardin Baylor who would have played for the National championship had they not had to face WW again in the playoffs.

yeah I'm just giving em a hard time...in my opinion...WW is hands down the most talented team in the conference...they just got out played and really imo out coached against point...I will say this...for the 2nd year in a row...2 WIAC schools are in the playoffs...that in itself says a lot about the talent of both of these teams...and this conference as a whole...

Point is the type of team that can beat anyone and lose to anyone. They rely to much on the pass and aren't effective running the ball on their own terms(Like the Arizona Cardinals) even though they have a great talent in Ferron. If weather conditions are on Point's side they could make a run but I would have to agree with T Unit that Whitewater has the most talented team in the WIAC and I don't believe Point could beat them again.
Connor Kurki could be starting QB for Badgers this year no doubt!!
