Madison - Jarmal Ruffin and Diondrae Jenkins, reserve wide receivers who were not expected to compete for playing time for the University of Wisconsin in 2007, have decided to leave the program.

UW coach Bret Bielema announced the moves today.

Ruffin is a redshirt freshman from Philadelphia. Jenkins is a freshman from Racine Park High School and a former teammate of tailback John Clay, who signed with UW in February.

"Diondrae told me he is interested in pursuing life outside of football and concentrating on his academics either here at the UW or possibly at another institution," Bielema said in a UW release. "Jarmal is currently pursuing other options academically and athletically outside of the University of Wisconsin."

My thought is: If you can't make it as a star in D1, you won't be making a living off of it. Therefore, use your athletics to get a scholarship, and therefore as good of an education as you can.
The Brewers will finish 90-72 and earn the #1 WC berth.

Carlos Gomez will have a 30/40 season (HR/SB) and win a 2nd Gold Glove en route to an All Star selection.
