Here we will see how important MN's morals are.
Tough to just cut ties with him, like Bucky did with their trouble makers, because of his great talent and what it would mean to MN's season.

Rumors abound on multiple Minnesota message boards that White has been expelled.

I have not heard anything about royce being expelled. I have a friend on the team and from what I understand is basically Royce is supposed to really just focus on school, keep his head up, and do what he can to get his life back in order. He wasn't at the game today, and I expect him to not be allowed back until Tubby has seen him improve his habits and lifestyle. As far as expelled, I haven't heard anything that extreme yet. I will admit that even before these incidents a lot of students were basically talking about how good Royce was going to be... if he made it to the season. It really isn't that big of a suprise

Royce White is not expelled from the University of Minnesota as some media outlets are reporting.

'U' Basketball coach Tubby Smith and Athletic Director Joel Maturi said reports were incorrect and nothing has changed.

Saturday morning on WCCO Radio, Maturi said the story that was circulating was "flat out wrong."

Wrong, at least according to a media outlet in the twin cities.

Per the media in the cities today

University of Minnesota men's basketball coach Tubby Smith said today that he hasn't changed the status of freshman forward Royce White, who is still suspended indefinitely for violating team rules.
White, a former Mr. Basketball at Hopkins High School last season, wasn't on the bench for Friday night's 87-50 season opening win against Tennessee Tech at Williams Arena. Smith said after the game that he wouldn't comment until everything had been "finalized" with White.

Fox 9 reported that Smith was going to announce today that White was being dismissed from school. But Smith said nothing more would be determined until after White's recent issue was resolved.

So let's review:

1) Kicked out of one school for multiple cheating episodes.
2) Breaks jaw of teammate at an open gym.
3) Kicked out of two dorms on campus.
4) Arrested after shoplifting and assaulting security guard.
5) Suspect in thefts on campus.

Anyone want to defend this kid still?

Its gotten to the point where you can't defend him. How many choices can you give him if he just keeps messing up? Tubby has to come down hard on him or I'll lose a lot of respect for him.

Suspend the kid for the season.

Tell him he gets to practice and go to school.

He is on a zero tolerance from this point on.

If he gets good grades and keeps his nose clean for the next year he could be reinstated next season.

Either that or kick him off the team, anything less would be ridiculous at this point.
