Confrence looks good this year!!![]....but anyways:
Cedar Grove @ Christain: Overall a good game. 3 point game at halftime and many of Cedar Groves players were in foul trouble...(4 of there starters). In the fourth quarter the refs really didnt impress me much making a few bad calls to foul out cedar groves three big men, Taylor Jock, Danny Herzog, and Josh Peterson. And point guard Bryan krizek with 3 or 4 fouls, while christain themselves didnt seem to have anybody in foul trouble. Seemed that they were in double bonus before we were in bonus, but o well. Simmons played good, made a lot of free throws, veldkamp was smooth, and they could hit the boards well. For Cedar Grove jordan peterson was leading scorer with 14 and impressed many people with most of his points beind 15 feet, herzog ahd 11 and krizek 9, most free throws, jock 7, and peterson 4. Overall both teams looked good, nad like i said since football season cedar grove will surprise many people, and christain will be up in the confrence race most likely.

My thoughts, like everyone elses was that the games were weird. The conference looks like we could see a lot of parity. Obviously I am not saying that Ozaukee or Random or us are going to win the conference but I think it is possible that their could be some upsets.

Random Lake was probably more talented physically but Ehlen and Weyker can't be the basis of a good B-ball team because of their fouls and their attitude. Weyker went in the game with 7 mins left and 4 fouls and commited a hard off the ball foul that wasn't called. I don't think I would have called the foul but he has to be smarter. Random did not look as well coached as last year.

Elkhart is going to be tough to play if Ringwell is hitting like he was last night but, you can't expect that. I am not going to judge anything about Elkhart because I can't really say.

The rest of the games were surprising. I think that Random at least to me will probably finish last or second last. I think everyone will be surprised how poorly Howards does after losing Horness and Plocar. Those two helped a lot. Howards needs a post presence. Ozaukee could be Ok with Simms and Leclair. Oostburg, I think will win the conference with all their height and the tradition they have going. Christian and Lutheren are going to be very good but I think Oostburg will prevail. Kohler is going to be interesting. How were Wolf's stats. If he does not step up and be a force, 1st team all conference. I can not see them getting top 5.

New Predictions
1.Oostburg
2.Lutheren
3.Christian
4.Howards
5.Elkhart
6.Cedar
7.Kohler
8.Ozaukee
9.Random

What an usual night in the CLC. I am not even sure what to think. For starters the game I was at was the Cedar Grove game. This game was much closer than the score appears. It was within a basket in the 4th quarter. I was impressed with the young big guy Cedar Grove has. He will be a player. If you ask me if either of these teams could contend for the conference I wouldnt know what to say. I did not see enough last nite to tell me if these were two mid pack teams or if Christian was a conference contender with Cedar Grove on the way up. Simmons played very well and looks like first team all conference. But I left this game more confused than anything. Then after I left my confusion really started. I saw that Howards beat Ozaukee by only 8!! I cant beleive Ozaukee improved this much so it must mean that Howards is not that good a team and maybe Kohler will pass them in the standings this year.
My friend went to the Kohler game and said it was real good. he also mentioned that Kolb and Garland are now the stars of the team. Kolb was high scorer and played terrific defense and garland was in double figures and rebounded very well. Was this a fluke or is Kohler a team to watch. I do know that often Kohler tends to start seasons well but not finish well. But if Kolb and Garland continue to carry the team who knows. He also said that he was shocked that a couple of players for Kohler (one being wolf) were not even factors. Zimmermann got into foul trouble but had a good nite and swart was impressive. I asked about Wilterdink and even though he hit some free throws down the stretch my friend didnt feel that Wilterdink would be that big a player this year.
Who knows what will happen in this conference? Any thoughts? did anyone see the Howards game?

ok bud, sorry but i really dont want to hear anything about a rocket not being physical enough, and knowing that your from christain your should really shut up. Cedar Grove dominated you guys in the physical part no dought...omg not even a question, we were obviously more agressive, having 3 people foul out on mostly questionable calls. and i just want to add a little something. justin simmons you had a good game, had a lot of respect for ya but when krizek from cg said get out to him i almost lost my shorts. Most amazing block i have ever seen! The scream while blocking added a nice touch, but when it flew off the backboard to the free throw line, oh man it still makes me smile.
