Wisconsin Lutheran 62
West Allis Central 33

A tough matchup to start the year for a rather inexperienced WAC team, the Bulldogs battled to the end, but WISCO's superior athleticism was too much. WAC, however, got some outstanding hustle from Adam Pfaller, Jeff Meleski and Oren Bloom.

WISCO freshman phenom Flavian Davis led all scorers with 15 points.

Scoring summary:

Wisconsin Lutheran: Jesse Muldrow 1, Brandon Whiteside 11, Andy Grunze 4, Zach Burczyk 2, Cedquon Holmes 4, Flavian Davis 15, Julion Griffin 4, LaJara Owens 3, Chris Echols 11, Chuquee Fletcher 7.

3-point FGs: 3 (Whiteside 1, Davis 1, Echols 1).

West Allis Central: Mac Kraker 3, Paul Flemion 2, Derwin George 5, Adam Pfaller 3, Jeff Meleski 3, Nick Harris 6, Jeff Barczak 6, Jake Ivy 5.

3-point FGs: 3 (Kraker 1, George 1, Meleski 1).

Hale got a lot of help from the refs. No doubt tho Rick Wagner is the real deal. Reminds me of Keaton Nankivil but he just doesn't have the outside shot or the post moves. But he is very tough on defense. I think if West played that game with Geo Jackson they beat Hale. Hopefully we get a rematch in the playoffs though. Not trying to be rude, but why does that one big kid who is 5'10 play on Hale? Is he the coaches son or something? Honestly, he wouldn't even play on my Dads age 50+ Intramural team.

r u serious the refs gave west a lot of calls too, they went both ways. wags had pretty good post moves he tore up rico down low. they didnt even put rico on rick cuz he was gettin into foul trouble. and about the 5'10 kid. he has the most heart out of anyone i kno. and he has a great shot it is deseving when u see him and hahah o yea he played tonite and hale beat u so that must feel bad if u wanna rip on him. and about Geo, thats too bad i mean they kid shouldnt have gotten suspended so thats his fault, Tosa had there best player and hale had theres so whoever wanted more won.

First of all, the refs didn't give west too many calls. For TW a jump stop was a travel on many occasions, and I'm not trying to be bitter or anything that's the way it was. TW without a doubt had more talent, but Hale was more organized. It pays for Hale that they had played two games before this and saw where they were at. I think when TW gets all their pieces together and offense set they'll be very tough to stop. To be honest, there wasn't a moment throughout the game that I didn't think TW was the better team and wasn't going to win. But, good for Hale I guess and they're a well coached team.

First off I dont want this to become a Hale vs. West agruement because it is pointless and unnessecary. Lemme point out a couple of things

[ul][/ul]
One, TW might have went over the line with the last statement but it was a fair question to ask I was wondering the same thing. Its good for him that he has the biggest heart on the team and hopefully he continues to have a solid year

Two, Wagner is a monster enough said, I was very impressed with how he played tonight and YesGio Jackson could of definitely helped in more than one way tonight, he would of gave them the physical persence they seemed to lack all game. Also FYI, Wagner was never planned to be guarded by Rico, it was suppose to be Barton or Gierhahn.

Third, it is last because its the least important of this whole post, the refs suck period. They were sub-par and miss numerous calls. I could hear some of the hacks in the student section not being called, not a good thing.

Good luck to Hale and I definetly see them as a possible darkhorse in the GMC.

Eli Belich actually has a good skill set, just not the physical attributes of a basketball player.

One of the coolest things I saw last year was when he came off the bench and scored 7 quick points against Greendale. I despise Hale, but that was sweet.

This was TE's first game and MLHS had a couple under their belts and had worked out a few cobwebs and butterflies that come with a first game. Still, TE put a full
court press on them that was very impressive and built up quite a lead before Lutheran could finally get it together. TE lost Brice right off the bat with an injury
(he came back and played well but it looked like a lot of discomfort, but gutty) but
other players came in to help press and they just kept up the persistance until
Lutheran finally regrouped and started to plug away. Lutheran is no slouch, and
they have a bunch of good athletes. It was a good test to start the season for
TE and they will win a lot of games with the "DEFENSE" they are going to put on
their opponents. If they just keep believing in the "D" the offense will come together and they will be formidable for another run in the GMC. Big test on
Saturday against Washington HS and then the picture will start to come together.
TE has some studs (my favorite is Tony Walls, who is Mr. "D" I think) but look out
for the rest of this cast as they can play b-ball. George may not have a superstar
or big tall players but quickness and guttiness is going to be their mode of winning
games. Be prepared when you play them that they will stick to you like glue and
you better not get frustrated for their full court press will have your eyes spinning.
Just ask MLHS's team and you will get the answer. If they could have broken their
press the first half they might have been the better team but they had to work too
hard and just ran out of time to pull it off. A Win is a win in the winning column
and most fans won't remember they almost let a "22" (my favorite #) point lead go
down but to a good team that will win a lot of games for their school this season.
Keep working both of you as you are both great to watch and will be fun all season
long.
May our dear Lord's PEACE be with you and yours always and forever.

As I said earlier in my other post, the refs were the last thing to worry about in that game. They were not aggresive, they didnt take it to the hoop enough, there were alot of things wrong. Lets just end it at that.

Thing about TE, I heard that they look incredibly quick and Walls who didnt score much but was such a difference maker. I also heard he put on some muscle as well. It also didnt help they missed 11 free throws too.
