I know its girls volleyball, but for basketball they are identical. Somerset is officially D2.

I see Osceola finally moves down to the south bracket. No more trips past TURTLE LAKE,[&o]

Osceola girls played down in the south bracket the last 2 years for volleyball and then played in the north bracket for basketball.

You're right. I should have been more clear, I trying to point out who was still in our half of the section. Most notably, the addition of Somerset. I have to believe Somerset or Osceola will go north for basketball.

Hayward and Osceola look to be 2 of the toughest teams from Regional A IMO looking at it right now 6 and a half months before the season even starts.

New Richmond will be very good and they play the toughest NC schedule of anyone in this half of the section.

I think New Richmond returns the best core of their talent out of any team in the conference. Their JV also had the most players with potential to have success on varsity too in my opinion. They had nice size & their guys were all pretty athletic and good playmakers. They're my pick to take conference next year & I anticpate them making the strongest playoff run in Regional A out of the Middle Border teams.

If New Richmond or Somerset play Ashland in the first round, wouldn't that be a hike for a Tuesday night? Did the WIAA do this just to mix things up a bit or what?

If the WIAA members agree to a new proposal next month Regis and Mcdonell will be joining D2 for basketball for the 08 brackets. This is an article sportsfan posted on the hs football board.

As for the comment Billybobble made......no, the WIAA doesn't care how far a school has to travel on a Tuesday night. In D1 where they are seeding the whole sectional this year you could have Hudson traveling to Rhinelander or Lakeland for a Regional semi or vice versa. []
