The thing I don't understand is his use of the pinch hitter. This stems from the past 2 games. Yesterday, he had a pinch hitter leading off the 7th. Now we all know who the closer is for the Cubs. He's a right hander. So, why do you pinch hit Fielder to lead off mind you, the 7th? You should know that if you get one hit in the next 3 innings the pitcher's spot is going to come up again in the 9th at least. He keeps going for the long ball pinch hits when he should be going for hits. Helms should have hit there. And then last night, Cirillo comes up with 2 outs to face the guy who made him look bad on 3 pitches the night before. Where the hell is Helms? What has he done again to be in the doghouse? Throw him a friggin bone once in a while.

On another topic, Prince did look good in the field last night. Weeks, yet again, proved to be a liability at second. That's what, 4 errors now in 26 attempts, and he should have gotten another on the back-to-back plays along with 2 in his 3rd game on questionable official scoring. He's striking out an awful lot and not playing good defense. Not the guy I want batting second. He should have been trying to move Brady to 3rd last night in the 8th instead of trying to pull the ball. Give me a guy like Cirillo in the 2nd slot willing to give himself up to move the runner along.

I was yelling at the TV last night when Cirillo went up there. Helms is 7 for 14 off the bench and he seems to crush those doubles when he pinch hits. Cirillo is now 1 for 13. I woulda thought we'd be looking for power with the tying run at first and two outs but I guess that's not what Yost was thinking. Oh well, we can just keep losing to the slumping Cubbies....

And then today with a 5 run lead they pinch hit Helms. Um...why? Why not let the Prince hit in front of the home crowd in a more or less non-pressure situation? I was sure hoping to see him....

Magruder came through huge yesterday and Helms almost cost us the game. I don't know how they didn't give him an error on that. It was a play he should have made, right under the glove. Helms sucks.

Helms isn't consistant enough to continue to survive as the Brewers main Pinch Hitter.

He's by far the best pinch hitter we have. Cirillo is 1-14 or 1-13. If you think that batting over 400 as a pinch hitter is not good, then may I ask who you think on the Crew is great? Magruder is around 200 overall.

Helms is the man. He's changed this year. You have just not been blessed to see him more often. He'll prove he's worth something these next few weeks.

I've seen Helms play this year just as much as you, and I still think he sucks. He's batting over .400 as a pinch-hitter, cool, I didn't say that wasn't good, but will he keep that up, hell no. Over the next few weeks he'll prove that he's a horrible 3rd baseman, a sub-par hitter, and provide many reasons why the Brewers should get rid of him.
