Does UW have any chance? what's GG plan if the 3's are not falling?

Wisconsin tops the #5 ranked Buckeyes 61-57 in Columbus thanks in part to good defense and doing just enough on offense.

Nate Reuvers led the way with 17 points, followed by Kobe King with 13.

Badgers only shot 37.5% from the field, too. Seems like a mentally tough outfit. Got to clean turnovers and the shooting up, but road wins are great. Road wins in B1G play are even better.

In watching all of their games, the one thing that stands out is the Badger's defense.  That seems to keep them in the game most of the time.  Case in point against Ohio State.  What's scary is if they had just two "true" pure shooters (like a Herro), they could easily be ranked in the top 5 right now.

Speaking of rankings...  It's becoming real apparent that anyone can beat anybody at any given time this year!  I'm thinking you might as well just flip a coin when picking winners for this year's tournament in March...

Despite being in control of last night's HOME game against Illinois for the most part, it was the defense that severely let the Badgers down with an inability to defend the pick-and-roll AT ALL and simply not being able to get any stops in the final four minutes.

Making wide-open shots is a must at any level and Aleem Ford missed (and not close) on two huge wide-open threes late which really stung. In the final seconds, D'Mitrik was tasked with being the hero and opted to drive into the trees with disastrous results.

Kobe King was real good offensively again, but saw little of the ball in the latter stages of the game.

Bad loss with three ranked opponents on the docket. .500 in mid-January is a possibility. Yuck.

Ford could have drove in for a 10-12 foot jumper. GG could have subbed out Trice with Anderson for spot duty down the stretch and got in his PG ear about passing the ball? I like Ford but maybe it's time to give Wahl a shot at starting? If Trice doesn't clean his game up i'd argue for more minutes for Anderson. We need better play from those two positions. Especially the last 10 minutes of the game.
I am not sure Wisconsin was ever really in control of the game. They could never build on the small leads they had.
Posting up may have prevented one or more of those IL run outs.
I think a 2 man game of Kobe and Wahl would be tough to defend. Iso on one side of the court.

And the manic Badgers go on the road to PSU, get a dominating performance from Micah Potter (24 points, 13 boards) to win, 58-49.

Interesting to note the limited playing time for both Trice and Reuvers in this one.
