U.S. U-21 WNT ADVANCES TO NORDIC CUP FINAL

Lindsay Tarpley scored twice and Heather O?Reilly added another goal as the U.S. Under-21 Women?s National Team continued its remarkable run at the annual Nordic Cup, the world?s premier event for U-21 women, rolling to a 3-1 victory over Germany to claim the top spot in Group B and a berth in the championship game. The USA will face long-time rival Norway for the title on Tuesday, July 26. The match marks an amazingly consistent ninth consecutive Nordic Cup title game for the U.S. women, who have won an unprecedented six Nordic Cups in a row and seven out of the last eight. This is the 15th annual Nordic Cup, held in northern Europe every summer. The USA played Norway in a Nordic Cup final in three consecutive years from 1997-1999, winning twice and losing in 1998, but has not faced their long-time rivals in a Nordic Cup final since then.
