Because of what I suspect may be a long, drawn out ordeal, I'm going to create a separate thread devoted to Urban Meyer's current dilemma.

Urban Meyer put on leave following allegations he knew about repeated domestic abuse reports made by the wife of a former assistant back in 2015.

Dawgstyle's signature might come partially true, but not because of anything Harbaugh did, just another head coach falling on his sword. ðŸÃƒÃ¢â‚¬Â¹ÃƒÃ†Ãƒ¢â‚¬â„¢ÃƒÆ’¢â‚¬Â¦ÃƒÃ‚¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã…“Ž

It should be noted (per the above link) that Urban Meyer was in favor of and cooperated with the idea of an administrative leave.  If for no other reason than to not be a distraction as his Buckeyes ready themselves for the 2018 season.

This situation may very well come down to "what did Meyer know (if anything) ... and when did he know it" ...

One thing is quite clear:  Meyer's wife, Shelley, was in the loop on the domestic problems (including assaults) of Meyer's assistant coach Zach Smith and his spouse as recent as 2015.  Allegedly, Smith's wife had agreed to allow and encouraged Meyer's wife to inform Urban of the physical assaults.  The question now becomes whether or not Shelley Meyer followed thru and informed Urban of the Smith's problems & allegations.

A committee made up of 6 Ohio State University Trustees will investigate Urban Meyer and ultimately decide his future at tOSU:

On one hand we have a guy who should, by all means, be fired.  His track record and history of deceit and lies have fully unraveled and this was only a matter of time.  Add into the fact that him and Zach Smith coordinated a PR stunt coming out at the same time, and it was just pitiful to watch all the lies Smith told in that interview.  This has to be the icing on the cake for the ultimate crummy thing to do.

On the other hand, if there's one slimy snake that can get away with this, come back, and absolutely dominate the season, it's this guy.  I really hope it's not the latter.

IF Urban is fired, the next question is how does it immediately affect the OSU program and their on-off field performance?

BREAKING ...

Maryland's head football coach, D.J. Durkin, has also been placed in administrative leave by his school while an investigation is performed pertaining to a "toxic culture that has been established (within) the program under Durkin and others:"

Offensive Coordinator Matt Canada, who joined the team in January, will take over as interim head coach.  Canada has never been a head coach at the college level before.

Not a good look for the B1G East... Is it a surprise that Durkin was formerly mentored and worked under none other than... Urban Meyer.

Urban Meyer was in contact with authorities on nine separate occasions and Zach Smith was recently fired.

What exactly did Meyer do wrong in this situation?

I have and the only logical conclusion is that Zach Smith is an abuser.

However, the Alt-Left’s #MeToo movement has gone too far. This is a which hunt. Meyer is not an abuser nor an accomplice.

Ehh...if someone in power knows something but doesn't even slightly act on it though...the question becomes what responsibility does that person bear? While this isn't Penn State-levels of looking the other way, I don't think it's exactly a witch hunt either.

Continue to employ a serial abuser/possible bordeline alcoholic.

Meyer has an extensive history of being an enabler.  Look no further than Aaron Hernandez.

His staff had Smith, serial abuser.  Kevin Wilson, lost his job because of player abuse accusations.

Greg Schiano, has depositions against him that he knew about Penn State scandal.

Larry Johnson, accused of knowing about Penn State scandal.

How many of his players have been arrested over the years?

This isn't a witch hunt, not even a little.
@2GuysFromWI

Harbaugh will have Urban Meyer retired from OSU by 2020.

I dont know alot about the entire Smith situation, but I do find it bizarre that there were no police charges filed against Smith by his wife. Why the hell was his wife supposedly emailing with Urban's wife and NOT going to the police??  The entire situation has put out just enough info to make for a nice mystery novel. This is actually the definition of a 'witch hunt' when it come to Urban Meyer. Smith is the real CULPRIT, yet many want to blame Urban Meyer and his wife. When the $hit hits the fan, we are all ultimately responsible for ourselves and our own safety. I doubt many on this site have had any dealing with employment law - what often looks like 'common sense' often isnt. I once had an employee in my dental practice that was apparently being abused by her boyfriend. How did I find out? Another employee told me. I talked with my attorney and was given the advise that unless this woman actually came to me - to keep out of it. That was 25 years ago and times have changed, but my attorney told me I had tremendous liability if I stuck my nose in and even talked to the employee about it(asking her to make it simply). If the woman was to come to me with 'first' person knowledge, then I was at a point of talking with her about it. I dont really know how Urban Meyer's wife works into this situation, but it seems odd to me that the woman(Smith's wife) didnt email right to Urban. The entire situation is just bizarre. Of course the media is going to jump on Urban Meyer - in today's world it is easy to do that right off the bat then slide down the slippery pole later when it is found out that Urban Meyer didnt actually have the knowledge that some 'experts' think they know. I assume there are many many attorney's involved in figuring this out for Urban Meyer and the Ohio State brass. All we can do is wait for the truth to come out. Urban Meyer may have liability, those above Urban may have the liability, Urban's wife may have the liability - these kind of cases can get extremely complicated.

Just way too much information hasnt come out yet to determine Meyer's fate to us in the public. That info 'may' be there already, but way way to much innuendo, 2nd hand info, gossip, etc to make an educated call on this. It WILL come out and whatever comes out wont surprise me. I have been around long enough to almost expect 'slime' to come out on successful people, EVENTUALLY!

Don't forget about DJ Durkin, who was previously an assistant coach and mentored by Urban.  That is the most telling connection of all because the Maryland controversy is pretty serious imo.  I've also read about other accusations of former players where Meyer would over-train players at Florida, to the point of one players "bursting" their quad muscles, among other things.
