Who will prevail this year at St. Andrews (Tiger Woods, Padraig Harrington, Ian Poulter, Justin Rose, etc.)?

While I would love to see Steve win, I think it will be someone from that side of the Atlantic.
Knowledge is good.

Tiger will not win.

I may be wrong, but I doubt it "I do have one question: Have you ever seen Gollum, John Clayton and Sam Cassell in the same place before?" - Charles Barkley

As is custom in the British Open, those who didn't tee off in the morning got screwed by the weather.

Without officials, it would just be recess!

Daly's short game and putting was solid for most of the opening round although he missed a few easy ones on the back nine.

i'm entertained by the open, but i don't like it. golfing in 30+ mph winds is dumb, not golf. there's more survival and luck than skill involved in it. in that whether you're just punching and rolling the ball around the course and hoping for the best. yeah you still gotta execute, but when you place the ball next to your ball mark and it just starts rolling because of the wind, that's not playable.

i understand weather is a huge part of golf, and that in every tournament how you do is effected by the weather when you tee off, especially in links golf, but i don't agree with conditions where in the morning guys are shooting 10 under and in the afternoon guys are shooting 10 over. just seems ridiculous to me

The elements are a huge part of golf, as is luck. The guys who went off this afternoon had great weather the first day, those who had just okay weather this morning had really bad weather yesterday afternoon. It all works out in the end. Can't win a golf tournament without some luck, that is the way the game works.

One of the few players to receive playable conditions both Thursday and Friday and he definitely capitalized, building a large lead going into the weekend. No stumbles on Saturday or Sunday is remarkable for someone in that position for the first time. Probably not the last time we hear from him.
