Zach Davies with another scoreless outing, but a high pitch count saw him removed after the fifth. The Dodgers got two HRs and three runs off Matt Albers in the sixth and that's all they would need as the Brewers could only muster a Christian Yelich HR in the ninth after windmill Ed Sedar got Hernan Perez thrown out by a mile at home in the eighth. Travis Shaw continued to struggle, popping out as the tying run to end the game.

The continued struggles of Shaw, Aguilar, and Braun are hampering this team.  At times, their ab's aren't even competitive.  They look really lost and the fact that Braun for some reason has decided that he will never take a walk doesn't help.

I would be for CC sitting them all for a couple of days.  Leave Moose at 2B though.  Let him get in sink with Arcia.  Don't move him to 3B when Shaw is out.  Let Perez go there.  Start Thames at 1B and Gamel in LF tonight.

As far as a starter tomorrow, nothing yet.  I don't really want to see a bullpen game already.  That doesn't bode well for the season if we are going to that 20 games in

Tough to see them waste a SP performance like that and not get any offense. Trying to remain patient but when 5 regular starters are hitting .231 or less plus a P in the order. That's too big of a load for 3 guys to carry.

Well, those P's have actually been raking...

Corbin Burnes gets sent to San Antonio along with Jake Petricka.  Alex Wilson comes back from the Paternity List and lefty reliever Donnie Hart comes up to Milwaukee.  The Brewers now have to fill two spots in their rotation with not the greatest options from which to choose.  The leading candidates are probably Chase Anderson and Aaron Wilkerson.

Well, it is a good thing they didn't get rid of Davies and Anderson...

Despite this, the Brewers rank 12th in the league at 5 runs / game.

Brewers took an early lead on a Christian Yelich 2-run HR, but couldn't muster anything until an Eric Thames solo shot in the eighth...and that was only a consolation after Kike Hernandez's three-tun HR off Josh Hader had given the Dodgers a 5-2 lead in the top of the inning. It was the first HR given up by Hader with an 0-2 count. Berwers pitchers walked nine Dodgers. Simply not good enough. Brewers hitters only mustered seven hits. Simply not good enough.

Anderson gets the start.
I predict 5+ from him.

I predict Aguilar hits a HR today.

Brewers win 6-4.

Appreciate your optimism, Stan, and hope you're right.

Out of curiosity, how many HR's does Anderson give up tonight in his 1st start of 2019 ?

A good start for Anderson tonight.  Puts him in line for another start next week.  1-0 after 5 doesn't give me a lot of confidence with the way the bullpen has been going lately though.  A win tonight is badly needed with Kershaw looming tomorrow.

What more can anyone say about Yelich.  We have to make sure to enjoy what we are seeing because it doesn't happen very often.

Bullpen throws four scoreless (Claudio - 2 IP, Guerra - 1 IP, Albers - 1 IP) as Brewers pitching two-hits the Dodgers. Christian Yelich hit two more HRs, and then after a Cain double in the seventh, someone finally intentionally walked Yelich, only to have Braun crush a three-run HR for the final 5-0 margin.
