what are the thoughts of the RVC schools?

personally i don't think it is fair to the smaller schools like palmyra, clinton, parkview etc to be in the same conference with schools the size of east troy, whitewater, jefferson and mcfarland, its just not fair, its different when its et, ww and jefferson with fort and elkhorn and dd but not when they're small like that. i think it needs to be broken into a small/large type of setting which even then of the 12 teams how do you divide it? one of the big schools falls into the small schools still unless you go 2- 7 team conferences but where do you go from here?

The realignment should go with a East/West or a North/ South Division setup. The enrollment can change too much each year. The start of this year BF, ED, EV are very close with the same amount(+/-565).

i think it would break down like this:
Large
McFarland (677)
Whitewater (653)
East Troy (617)
Jefferson (616)
Big Foot (578)
Edgerton (566)
Small
Evansville (519)
Brodhead (513)
Turner (385)
Palmyra (375)
Clinton (373)
Parkview (361)
either way its done if you go 14 teams well then you still leave brodhead in the small and they kill everyone or you have to add two smaller teams but then it is a matter of what two small schools can u bring in to balance that out from around here? williams bay? catholic centeral? they're half the size of clinton and parkview.

RVC 2K5, they wouldn't do that on an individual sport basis because Deb Hauser said that you can't look at a conference for just football or one sports, you have to look at all of them.

Moving the smaller schools out of the conference was my initial thought when I heard of the realignment. J_townsupporter, you should be trying to talk to the AD's of the smaller schools. I don't recall anything being written were they are against this move. If the smaller schools are all against it, then they would need to come up with something else.

As for me, I was originally happy with McFarland coming in, but then remembered that they don't have a wrestling program. So that will only further complicate conference schedules for that sport.

These enrollments are from 3rd quarter 2005-2006. The enrollments change too much. BF is now 566, Ed 566, EV 564. It would be better to do east/west or north/south divisions. Example football: play 5 games in your division, 2 or 3 from the other division(on a rotation) and then 2 or 1 non conference game. In the old Southern Lakes(pre1982) I think thats how it was done. Basketball: play your division teams twice and the other division once. Do not go by enrollment!

this is true, and they're basing the enrollments off of last year as they do for the playoffs i believe. realistically it shouldn't have to be based on enrollment and it should be based on location east/west, north/south because that gap isn't that big compared to what mcfarland, jefferson, whitewater and east troy had to face in their old conferences.

in my opinion i think that like for football a team should play every team in their division once and then play against 4 teams from the other division and have a championship game, and you rotate the schedule as to who plays who every year, kinda like the big ten, but thats just my opinion

i see your idea, but the state would have to go to 10 regular season games, that would make it impossible. however i don't lik ethat because they're all conference games.
