Scores from round 1:

Pec 49
BH 19

Juda 65
Argyle 37

Monticello 47
Albany 36

That sets up round 2 matchups of:

Pec @ Barneveld

Juda @ Monticello

What happened in the Pec/BH game? BH just be Pec by 1 at Pec 9 days prior and then they get blown out by 30 on their home floor? It doesn't make much sense...

My predictions for round 2 are Barneveld and Monticello to win, setting up round 3 in the regional finals. I think that Monticello needs to be on upset alert though because Juda is a solid ball club and it is difficult to beat a good team 3 times in 1 year...

Albany gave Monticello a tough one last night. Monticello jumped out to a big lead in the first quarter, only to hold on for dear life the rest of the game. Probably exactly what the Ponies needed coming off an emotional victory vs. Barneveld last Friday. Juda is a good team, but after a close game against Albany, Monticello should come out ready to play on Friday.

look for tyler richards to have a outstanding game. also look for his go to guard corey along the perimeter to hit the big shots. im going to go with monticello by 6.

Well after last nights actions, we are down to Monticello and Barneveld for the regional title. I was way off with Juda giving Monticello a run. Juda is a solid team, but apparently Monticello played what appears to be their best game of the year just destroying Juda. The same could be said of Barneveld though as they destroyed Pec. That surprised me too. I thought that it would be a competitive game, especially after Pec played their best game against BH.

Tonights game should be a good one. I'm not sure who will represent the six rivers east in sectionals and hopefully, sectional finals. Will it be the balance of Barneveld of the leadership of Ritschard & McGowan that lead Monticello to sectionals? We'll find out in less than 12 hours.

In case anyone missed it...

Barneveld 52
Monticello 48

Ritschard had 16 in the first quarter and Barneveld went to a box and one the rest of the game. He only had 8 the rest of the game to finish above his average. Ritschard's performance in the first quarter was one of the best I have seen in a quarter in my life, if not the best. He was unstoppable. He was hitting 3's, jumpers, getting to the hoop and scoring over, through, and around double teams. I turned to my buddy midway through the first and said they are going to have to go box and one on him if they want to have a chance and he was like, if that even works. It was quite the 8 minute show.

After the first quarter, the game became a grind out type of game and Barneveld made the plays down the stretch to win. If you want to read about it, there's an article from the WSJ [link=http://host.madison.com/sports/high-school/basketball/boys/article_07eb29fe-47b1-11e0-8201-001cc4c002e0.html]here[/link]. Barneveld moves on to face a battle tested Catholic Central team. What are everyone's thoughts on this game?

Barneveld has a decent chance in their next game, they are playing well...I expect them to win that game

But looks like the run will likely come to a stop in watertown vs randolph.

tyler richards should win player of the year with ease. nobody can compete with such a man as tyler richards.

Well no shit? I don't think that anyone was debating that...

Anyways, Barneveld is the last SRE team standing, and it should be an interesting run from here on... Also, that was one hell of a sexy nun in Barneveld's student section on Saturday night.

Both teams have tough games tomorrow and despite being the favorites, neither could be playing in Watertown on Saturday.
