What are the odds that a small school like Mishicot would beat SPASH and Wisconsin Rapids on consecutive days. Congratulations!

Rapids isn't very good. SPASH is a decent feather in the cap.

The thing about girls' basketball is the talent between the top teams across all divisions isn't really all that far apart. 20 years ago this would have been unheard of...in modern times, not as much.

Exactly. Black Hawk knocked off Madison La Follette 62-44 today.

Yeah, the small schools knocking off bigger schools in GBB is far from unheard of....though in the case of Black Hawk it's almost expected.

I can see why in the case of an upstart like Mishicot it would be seen on a bigger scale though.

As has been said in other threads, it's easier to impact a BB team with fewer players, that is especially true in GBB.  Mishicot has a couple of nice players and they do fairly well right now. I am sure for a school community like Mishicot to beat SPASH or other big schools it is a big deal.

Girls high school sports are different today.

Just imagine if volleyball players played more than one sport! 😎

Just the way it is; the 2 most popular HS girls sports and 1 of them has a "club" season during the others HS season. If I only had $.05 for every GBB coach that has cursed club VB stealing their tall girls.

Some schools find a way to make club volleyball and basketball work together. Most girls on the Aquinas basketball team are volleyball players and many play club during the season. Coaches found a way to work it out.

That's great and sharing athletes all year long is a must in small schools.
