Coach Drew Diener and assistant Dick Diener have led a tough Stritch squad to the school's first ever NAIA National Championship... Diener is 4 for 4 in Chicagoland conference C.O.Y. awards and Stritch is #2 in the nation with a 34-3 record. The team is full of former Wisconsin high school players- Nick Ford (Fond du Lac) is a 4 year starter senior, Tony Smit (Fond du Lac), Derek Semenas (Laconia HS), Chad Mazur (Reedsburg HS), and Isaac Quinn (Kenosha Tremper).

Diener is one of the nation's top young coaches in any level. He had this tiny commuter school north of Bayshore mall tied at halftime with Big East's Notre Dame at their place this season. 1-point loss to D1 UWM in his first collegiate coaching contest. 3 conference championships and has turned Stritch into a major small-school program. Look for him to get a major offer in the area soon...

The NAIA National Championship is on CBS Sports TV tonight on TWC, UVerse, DirecTV. Deserves a shoutout
