From the Wisconsin State Journal:

Milbrett nets 100th, U.S. routs Ukraine

Tiffeny Milbrett became the sixth woman to score 100 international goals, helping the U.S. women's national soccer team crush Ukraine 7-0 on a friendly Sunday in Portland, Ore.

Milbrett returned this year to the team that she left early last year because of differences with the then-coach April Heinrichs. Greg Ryan, a former University of Wisconsin coach who was an assistant under Heinrichs, was formally named head coach in April.

Mia Hamm, who retired from the national team last year, leads all women with 158 career goals. Milbrett's teammate, captain Kristine Lilly, scored her 104th against Ukraine.

Madison native Lindsay Tarpley came on as a substitute and played for 35 minutes for the Americans, who improved to 6-0 this year.

Yeah, this is a horrible year for the US women--aren't they playing their fewest games in history, or something like that?

I happened to turn the game on literally 3 seconds before she scored. It was a nice goal...it's great that she got her 100th on something like that, and not some deflection off of a Ukranian defender of something. It was a really nice shot.

This is a little off topic, but does anyone know what's happening with Leslie Osborne? Did she not make the team this year? I have to admit I'm not quite sure how all the roster stuff and practice teams and everything else works. She's home grown talent, and I always watch, hoping to see her on the sidelines at least. If anyone knows anything, thanks in advance.

I just read in the State Journal that she was just called into the US women's training camp to prepare for their July 24th game vs. Iceland in Carson, California.
