I have watched more games than you, and am just saying that Alex Cook of Washburn and Dalton Levra of Hurley should be All State in Division 3 this year. Both players are amazing and Their battles should be epic. I think Levra had 28 points with 10 assists last night and Cook has had games of 43 and 48 already this year. Anyone know where they are playing next year?

I have no idea where they are playing.. But I saw Cook last year play against Ladysmith in the Regional-Finals. All i can say is WOW... I looked at hiim and thought.. piece a cake.. and then near the end of the game, He single-handedly brought his team into O.T. He could shoot the 3 off the dribble.. Shoot anywhere, and make some crazy layups, and good defense, and dribling.

Alex certainly is fun to watch isnt he? I saw him for the first time last year in the tournament and I am making as many games as I can this year. I dont remember when I saw someone who can finish with contact like he can. Someone is certainly going to get a player in him. The first matchup between these two will be on the 19th at Hurley and I will be there.

Hurley might indeed be a diff team, and have some good size for a small converence, but Washburn was big last year too, but their big kids looked like 7th graders.. So what is the case for Hurely? I know Levra is quick and athletic, but are their bigs athletic to where they can block shots, rebound, and run the floor?.. If Hurley is the realy deal this year can they make it past the regionals this time around? Becuase they always have a shot but I don't see it happening this year.

Levera is coming off a career night at Mellen where Hurley also saw the return of probably their best defensive player, Justin Renlund. Cook may be a great player but i don't thing he has had to play a swarming Defense like Hurley yet. Just another question, has Cook hit 1000 points yet? I know Levera did in the begining of his Junior year.

I think Cook is a overall better player.. And if you think He isn't going to score against against a "swarming Hurley defense" well think again.. Hurley let Mellen do it... 75 points allowed to a mediocre team... But it is impessive how much points Levra has scored in his career.

The mellen game was a result of some poor decisions and the big guys in foul trouble Laurin, Leinon and Innes all had four fouls to start the fourth quarter. Trust me a few of those shots that Mellen made in the fourth wouldn't have been so easy if Hurleys Big's could have challenged them more. You need to realize that Hurley is a different team this year. Its not just the Levra show. There are three players that will hurt you not just one. I just don't think that washburn has the personel to stop all of Hurleys shooters. I can't wait for Tues!

Well the 7th graders from last yeaer are back but you will see that they can eat you alive. Laurin is seconed on the team in scoring and leads the team in rebounds and yes i have seen him block more that his share of shots this year. He is 6'5" and Innes is 6'3" and just a monster. Between these two and Leinon, who can drive to the holeand jump right out of the gym, they should take it to them.

Ahh I believe it becuase I watched Laurin make a spectacular 1 handed catch vs flambuea in football.. Not that it has anything to do with b-ball but, just the fact that he is athletic. Also that Rhenlund kid is a beast.. at least in football anyways.

These two don't disappoint last night as Cook gets 40 points but Hurley wins 77-61 with Levra pouring in 37 points. These are top 50 players IMHO, but you can't get much further north than Washburn and Hurley so it is harder to get recognition. Stay tuned.

So Hurley is the better team.. I think everyoen knew that.. but who was more impressive as a individual?

In my opinion Levra was hands down the better player. I belive that 9 of Cook's points came in junk time at the end of the game with hurley playing a little more relaxed defense. They held him to ten points in the first half. And as far as ball handeling goes, on more than one ocasion Levra gave him the old Shake n Bake.

I think it all depends on 3 things, How hot Levra stays, the health of Laurin and someone filling in his shoes when he's not in there. He had an MRI on his elbow on monday and found out there are some bone chips floating around. He said that it won't stop him from playing Tues. against drummond but he won't play against mercer tonight. You can tell it was bothering him against washburn because he only scored 3 points. Bottom line if everything goes right its scarry how good this team can play. I think they should have no trouble getting through the regionals, then it depends on when the meet up with Fall Creek or ECR and the quality of basketball they are playing t the time. But thats just my guess and thats why they have to play the games.

I would completely agree that they can play very good.. I remember them beating ladysmith in the Regional Finals 2 years back.. It was virtually the same team.. But Ladysmith was the same team back then too basically..If they face Ladysmith some time in the regionals that would be the best game..Ladysmith nearly beat Northwestern (they lead the whole game until with 4 seconds left). And Eric Effertz could match up with Levra better then anyone he has faced this year.

Wouldn't doubt it.. How far do you think Hurley will make it in the playoffs?
