I want to start jumping rope, but don't necessarily need a speed rope? Is it worth it to spend a lot of money on a rope or are there any that people could recommend?

I ended up relegating myself to buying a jump rope the next time I went to a sporting goods store. I got a 9 foot leather jump rope, worked well so far.

I was going to respond earlier.. but I guess I forgot. IMO a jump rope is a jump rope. The weighted ones are a pain in the ass though.. throws everything off. I'm sure your new jump rope will do nothing more or less than any other JR that you looked at.
