[link=http://www.wissports.net/sports/hoopsb/teamplayerstats.asp?tid=28&pid=65525]Logan Johnson[/link] signed a letter of intent this week to play college basketball at Upper Iowa University, a NCAA Division II school located in Fayette, Iowa.

According to Johnson?s travel-team coach, Tyler Selk of the Wisconsin Swing, Johnson selected Upper Iowa over Platteville and Stevens Point of the WIAC, along with Ashford and Mount Mercy of the Midwest Classic Conference.

A physical and skilled 6-3 wing player, Johnson averaged a team-best 16.9 points per game while leading Barneveld to a 22-5 record. He scored 19 points in a memorable 56-49 double overtime victory over Monticello in a WIAA Division 4 sectional semifinal game last month.

Johnson earned first-team all-state honors among Division 4 players from the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association and led Barneveld to a share of the championship in the Eastern Division of the Six Rivers Conference.

Upper Iowa finished 12-15 last season and is a member of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. Keven Bradley, a high school standout at Omro who later played college basketball at Stevens Point and Lawrence, is an assistant coach at Upper Iowa.

Good, smart move for him. I had been anticipating he would go to Platteville, but this is definitely a nice fit. Logan is a great ballplayer and I watched him hit some amazing shots and buzzerbeaters the last two seasons. Best of luck.
