If there is anyone out there, how does the upcoming football season look? Personally I see three teams fighting for the top. My picks at this time remain hidden.

I would say that Florence will be very strong this year, Northern Elite will be tough as usual, but my pick is florence

Good pick. Actually, I don't see N.E. doing much this year. They play two big teams (Norway for sure) in the beginning of the season that will be way too much for them to handle. I think it is a huge mistake picking Norway to add to their schedule.

I agree. I think Florence will be tough this year. Laona/Wabeno will bring some guys back from last years team and i think they will be tough also. NEP will be near the top as always.

I will more than likely watch NE in a scrimmage this week. From what I heard, (rumor thus far) is their numbers no longer represent a tri-op. I heard Pembine has no players, and Goodman has as little as six. If this is the case, Niagara should have just left their purple jerseys on and remained Badgers in the M&O.

I'll know more by this weekend.

Not that anyone cares, but recent happenings lead me to believe that NEP will struggle this year. Just my own observation.

OK. I had to make a new login because it has been so long since I have been on here that I forgot my password. I have seen 3 of the northern lakes teams in so far this season and will be seeing a fourth this thursday. Here is what I have for a shake down in the Northern Lakes.

1. Florence- good team last year that returns core players. Will be tough for anyone to beat.

2. Northern Elite- I know they had a fall from grace a bit last year, but I think they will rebound pretty strong this year. One more year of experience for the kids and the new head coach will go a long way. Wouldnt really surprise me if they beat Florence.

3. Laona/Wabeno- I have it from a pretty good source that they had SIX players injured in their loss to Suring. I have also heard that the talent pool coming up isnt a good as what they are accustomed to. Losing that badly to Suring raises some serious question marks. With that said, I still believe they will find their way to the playoffs. They always do.

4. Three Lakes- This is my dark horse pick. Their loss to Gillett surprised me a bit. They have some monsters up front on offense and defense. Their ability to throw the ball and new aggressive style defense will give several teams fits. It wouldnt surprise me if they finished higher than this. I think they might make the playoffs. Depth is the biggest concern.

5. Crandon- Not all that impressed when I saw them earlier this year and judging by their performance against Lena/STAA they will be their own worst enemy once again this year. It seems like they are always solid on both sides of the ball but self destruct with turnovers and penalties.

6. Menominee Indian- big school with players, but cant seem to put it together. Dont know what it is.

7. Looked much better this year when I saw them in week one. It wouldnt surprise me if they won a game or two or three. They have good size and a good athlete at quarterback. New coaching staff seems to have them headed in the right direction. Their biggest challenge will be depth and turning around that losing mentality.

There you have them. Let me know what you think.

Also magnum1, could you shed some light on the "recent developments" you are referring to.
