There are all kinds of different types and styles of golf balls out there but do all the different kinds actually do that much of a difference.?

A good rule that I go by when giving advice for this is that if you have to ask then it probably doesn't matter what ball you use.

What I mean is it all depends on your skill level. For the majority of golfers it really doesn't matter unless it's a huge difference like between a real old ball and a ProV1. If you're a single digit or maybe even teen handicap the ball can definitely make a difference. Different balls are softer around the green, fly further in the air, roll further, are more receptive to spin ect ect. But if you don't really notice then I don't think it's worth the hassle of trying to find your favorite ball and then limiting yourself to only using that. Hope that helped you out.

I play exclusively ProV1's and I notice they fly truer for me and I am getting a ton of spin on the greens with them with my irons. When I don't want to lose the $3 ball, I throw in some Pinnacle Golds that I got given to me. Actually, I don't ever pay for balls. All the insurance companies give them out.

I find a ton of ProV1s at work and used to play only with them too. However I realized that the whole engineered for spin thin was back-firing for me, if I messed up on my swing just a little bit the ball would slice waaay more. They can be pretty sweet around the greens though and you can get some awesome backspins and checkups with them.

I went to a Bridgestone ball-fitting have noticed a huge difference in my game. You can be a good golfer and don't have to waste $42 for a dozen.

Pro V1x is the brand of ball for me! I like it because it does not spin as much as the regular Pro V1, although I do use the regular version when I play in scrambles and have to spin wedges into tucked pins.
