Props for both schools to get together to fill a date despite the gap in enrollment.

Also Wisconsin School for the Deaf is playing Michigan School for the Deaf  at home on 9/21.

I don't understand why Valders and Northern Elite have not already scheduled to play each other in week 2.   Makes no sense to have an open week if you can play a game.    This would be a non-conference game and would not affect either school's playoff chances.   Seems like a no-brainer to me.

Other matchups that should be scheduled:

week 1:  Milwaukee Madison vs Milwaukee Washington (they are not in the same division in the MPS conference and are not already scheduled to play each other as a non-conference game.
week 1:  Bowler/Gresham vs Wisconsin School for the Deaf (8-man)
week 2:  Bowler/Gresham vs Madison Abundant Life Christian (8-man)
week 4:  Chequamegon vs Wisconsin School for the Deaf (8-man)
iweek 7:  Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah vs Wisconsin School for the Deaf (8-man)
week 9:  Pittsville vs Benton/Scales Mound/Shullsburg...........another no-brainer.

ie:  Madison Abundand Life Christian only has 5 games scheduled for the season (so far) in 2019.    Seems like they need to try harder to schedule some games if they want to be taken seriously as a school willing to offer football for their student athletes.

Some of those games involve extreme travel that schools just aren't interested in doing. I know Pittsville and Benton talked but couldn't make a neutral site work.

I get budgetary concerns, but these kids only get so many opportunities to play HS football.

Unfortunate that that's the mindset.

Unfortunately with the sudden influx of teams switching to 8-man, we are not totally sure (outside of the MONLPC, and the Lakeland) what conference changes happened or if there is new conferences overall. It seems that Abundant Life Christian could have gone independent judging by their schedule so far. Not sure what is up with Bowler/Gresham and their first three weeks either.

Looks like Madison Abundant Life Christian is not fielding a varsity 8-man team this year.    All 5 of their games have been cancelled.   Only 1 opponent has found a replacement game so far:    Belmont will now play at Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah on Oct. 11.

Others now with an open date are: (with possible opponents)

week 1:   Williams Bay (Bowler/Gresham or Wisconsin School for the Deaf)
week 3:  Oakfield (Bowler/Gresham)
week 5:  Wisconsin Heights (Toledo (OH) Christian)
week 6:  Algoma (Low Point-Washburn (IL) or Michigan School for the Deaf or Toledo (OH) Christian)

as of today (8-8-19), there are no 11-Wisconsin teams with an open date.............things may change as other schools may also have to cancel their seasons due to low numbers.    There are however two 11-man schools in Illinois still with an open date:   Clinton and Decatur St. Teresa.............good luck.

Sturgeon Bay will play 8-man in 2019.   They have already picked up 2 games:

Sept. 20th:  Wisconsin Heights (home)
Sept. 27th:  Algoma (home; also Homecoming)

Possible other games for S.B. in 8-man:

week 1:  WI Deaf; Williams Bay; Bowler/Gresham
week 2:  Bowler/Gresham
week 3:  Oakfield; Bowler/Gresham
week 4:  Chequamegon; Chip Falls McDonell; WI Deaf
week 7:  Low Point-Washburn (IL)
week 8:  WI Deaf; Elgin (IL) Westminster Christian
week 9:  Gaylord (MI) St. Mary;

with Sturgeon Bay cancelling it's 11-man season, both Valders and Northern Elite are down to 7 games apiece.   Which makes it even more a no-brainer that these 2 schools agree to play in week 2 this season.
