Nobody seems to comment in this thread anymore, lets see if this game pulls any interest. ET plays Germantown Saturday night at the Al McGuire center. I dont think ET can pull an upset, unless Dodge is on fire and they feed the post like they should with their 2 D1 recruits (Prahl brothers) down low. Fischer is a force down low for Gtown,ET has to make sure he gets no easy looks. Germantowns guard play is way above and beyond ETs, thats why im saying Gtown wins by 12. If Gtown dont knock down their jumpers at a high rate like usual, it might be a tight game. Brookfield Central took them to the wire, so there must be some cryptonite out there somewhere (Riley LaChance[] )If you like basketball, this may be one you dont want to miss. ET is one of the 3or4 teams in the state that can match and play with Gtowns height. Gtown is just too deep, talented, and well coached to flop and have a bad game. ET must stay away from turnovers by making clean passes and catches, play tough defense, and stay away from bad looking weak 3pt attempts.
Prediction: Germantown 78
East Troy 66

I'm sorry faststew, I love seeing ET with way more depth, but GTown is filled with great players. GTown wins, and it might not be close. SO GTown 84, East Troy 64.

But had you combined East Troy's D1 players last year, to this year depth, I think I would have taken East Troy to upset some good teams...

I think if ET still had Tanner Plomb this year they would beat Germantown. He played above the rim, and his wingspan on defense took up alot of defensive passing lanes. The depth this year are mainly guards who can handle the ball, but knocking down shots consistently is still a work in progress. Some bright futures, but still young yet. As stated above, it might not be that close. If ET plays anything short of a great game, it will probly be a 25pt game,im being unbias[]

Keep GTown off the 3 point line and get fisher in foul trouble early, that's the only chance ET has.I don't think this will be a high scoring game it will be all about defense and when the smoke clears GTown 65 ET 52 and ET will retain their #2 spot in the rankings.

Man that Fischer is just a beast. He hit 3 3 pointers, but Brett did a nice job rejecting a couple of his attempts early. Dodge was ICE cold, and ET collectively couldnt hit a shot open or not. ET also had no answer for Bearden and their hot shooters. Germantown definetly is the best High School team ive ever seen in person. Its ridiculous when your 3rd string is 6'5 and 6'6 []. Gtowns depth is most impressive, nobody will stay within 20pts of them imo. I would like to see them scrimmage some Wi college teams (D3)

(EDIT, found it out, holy crap!)

This is a good wakeup call for East Troy. They're not invincible anymore. Now comes more hard games over break, but I believe this ET team is more real than last year's. This team has contributions, it seems, from all over the floor and in more than the scoring column. They can be a legitimate state contender this year, but how they do against Riverside and especially Little Chute will be a barometer of where this team is at.

One of the keys was that G-Town was able to guard Dodge with length (Wesenberg at 6'7"), while still having size (Fischer and Averkamp) against the Prahls. Dodge had a difficult time getting open looks, and when he got them, him did not make them. G-Town is one of the only teams that can matchup with ET like that. I would assume that Little Chute would use Botz and Lowe to guard the Prahls--do they have a guy with length that can guard Dodge?

ET is still a top D-3 team this year, but I don't think that they are as good as last year's team. The Prahls are improved, but I haven't noticed much change in Dodge's game and the replacements for Plomb and Olsen are definitely not at their caliber. There is a little more depth than last year, but not much.

As for G-Town, they are tough! Having that kind of size and athleticism is tough to match. They aren't as deep as people seem to make them out to be--they appeared to only have eight in their rotation against ET--but they are pretty darn good.

Botz at 6'6, or Job at 6'5 could be on Dodge, and the one that isn't could be on a Prahl with Lowe.

I agree they are the best team I've ever seen in a high school team to find a team that can beat them you will have to look out of state.

I just hope both teams are ready to play with good officials. After seeing what the Prahls are capable of in defending a team like Gtowns big men, it is safe to say ET has the edge in the paint, not so sure the perimeter. Keep Kenny Lowe from driving to the basket, and play good perimeter defense will determin the game imo. See ya in Mequon[ninja]
P.S.- Theres NO way Job could handle a Prahl. They are alot stronger and aggressive compared to last year. Job covers Dodge, he will blow by him unless Dodge has a game like he did vs Gtown. If they zone up, this conversation is worthless and the game might become a 3pt extravaganza.ET will have a tough matchup vs Lowe for sure, hes tough to defend.
