Not sure how widely covered high school golf is on this forum, but I was wondering if you guys have heard about this family. Osceola sophomore Charlie Danielson recently posted a -5 at the boys state meet this past week. His oldest sister, now a freshman golfer at UW-Madison, was the state's first ever 4-time state champion. Charlie's younger sister, a freshman at Osceola, won the state meet this past year as well. In all, the Danielson kids have been in high school for a total of 7 years. They have won 6 state championships.

The Golf Coaches Association of Wisconsin named Waukesha's Emily Joers and Osceola's Casey Danielson co-players of the year on its all-state team.

Danielson, a junior, won her third straight WIAA Division 2 title last month, shooting a 2-under-par 142 at University Ridge in Verona, the lowest score of either division. Joers, also a junior, won her second Division 1 crown with a 36-hole score of 146.

Charlie Danielson of Osceola ... Division 2 State Golf Champion Danielson, who entered the day one shot ahead of Morrison and Edgerton?s Erik Danielson, beat Edgewood?s Johnny Decker in a two-hole playoff for individual medalist honors. Danielson followed up his first-round 71 with a 77, while Decker posted a second straight 74.

Both players narrowly missed birdie putts on the first playoff hole. Decker saw his 135-yard approach shot on the par-5 second bounce into a hazard, allowing Danielson to win with a par.

Gives him two titles and one 2nd place finish.

9th title for the family.

He joins 12 other individuals have been medalist twice. Edward Lock of Lake Geneva (now Badger) was the first in 1927-28. Steve Bull of Racine Horlick did it in 1950 and 1952. Rick Radder of Madison West won in both 1961 and 1962; Andy North of Monona Grove won in 1966 and 1967; Mark Voeller of Whitewater in 1988 and 1989; Kent Higley of Eleva-Strum in 1989 and 1990; Scott Cole of New Richmond in 1993 and 1995; Chad Kovaleski of New Richmond in 1999 and 2000; Matt Bark of Washburn in 2000 and 2001; Tyler Obermueller of River Falls in 2002 and 2004; and Cody Strang of Edgewood and Jake Nelson of Ladysmith in 2008 and 2009.
