Fifth time's a charm for BC. I think they're finally ready to seize that brass ring. Perhaps Marshfield was criminally underrated, but color me surprised at Homestead needing to grind out a W against them. Truth be told, Homestead's strength of schedule this year was very low, and I'm still not sure how good the Highlanders really are. I favor the Lancers here, but they must avoid mistakes and turnovers because Homestead will pounce.

Homestead will probably win. They have a lot of size on defense and they are decent athletes. Offense isn't anything special, they just execute. They are able to make some big pass plays when needed.

No matter who came out of that NW bracket none of the teams matched up that well against Homestead. Pulaski would have gotten crushed since they wouldn't have been able to user their big stud on 50 touches to move the ball all game long since Homestead had the size to match up against Pulaski.

I think there's no question that BC has superior skill position talent (Newbauer and Banda are close to a wash but BC takes it after that). But if there's anything Homestead has above BC it's that they don't beat themselves. BC was fortunate last week in that they avoided deja vu against Waunakee despite some costly late turnovers again.

Also, this matchup features cousins taking on each other for a state title.

BC QB Drew Leszczynski vs. Homestead DB Sam Leszczynski.

How often have relatives squared off in state championship games?

What are you talking about, hashmarken

Marshfield (12-1) out of the NW bracket, gave Homestead all they wanted & then some, before falling, 12-7, to the Highlanders in the state semi-finals.

That was the only time this season Homestead was held under 33 points !

You all need to watch more football other than your own conference when making predictions. If you watched film of these  2 teams it was very evident. Homestead  outclassed BC with more talented personal at almost all  positions. Plain and simple. It was very obvious who had the better skilled offensive players, homestead across the board. Defensively it wasnt even close. Watch a team play to know about them beore you judge and you will make a more accurate prediction next time.

They lost as was expected based on the matchups. They were better than Brookfield Central. Homestead was the most balanced roster in D2 this year with size, ability, and execution.

Menomonie had no shot at making it deep in the playofffs. They only had 13 seniors, were small, and not athletic. Pulaski would have gotten stuffed by Homestead. River falls matched up well against Homestated with passing, but not at the LOS.

It was next to impossible to judge where Homestead really was because their conference was so poor.

I've said as much ad nauseum.

A closer prediction next time? Not sure who would watch both Homestead and BC and come off with a prediction in the neighborhood of 51-14.

Wow. I hope you're just a kid, but I have real good hunch you're not.
