With Luther getting their revenge with a huge 16-point win over G-E-T, the top four teams in the conference all have two losses, and West Salem takes back the top spot after an upset loss to BRF earlier this season.

Current Standings:
West Salem: 7-7, 5-2
Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau: 6-7, 4-2
Luther: 6-7, 4-2
Westby: 7-4, 3-2
Black River Falls: 4-7, 2-3
Viroqua: 3-8, 2-3
Arcadia: 2-10, 0-6

Monday, January 21:
North Crawford @ Viroqua - North Crawford has gone a decent 6-7. They have had quite a few similar opponents to Viroqua, and despite the worse record, Viroqua has done much better against these teams than North Crawford. Based on these similar opponents, Viroqua should have an easy game, but I think it will be much closer.

Tuesday, January 22:
Fall Creek @ Arcadia - Fall Creek has done pretty well going 7-5. In their most recent game, they lost to Osseo-Fairchild by 16 after a tie at the half. They are right around the middle of the pack of a pretty tough conference in the Cloverbelt-West. Arcadia has not done well to say the least, but they did end with the same 16-point margin against O-F. This will probably be a close game and possibly a confidence-booster for Arcadia.
G-E-T @ Neillsville - Neillsville is a pretty good team and only have three losses including a close one to West Salem. They have a relatively high-scoring offense averaging 78 ppg. G-E-T's defense has been their best part of their game so far, but the past two games haven't been great. They have struggled all year long with finding a consistent 3-point shot, especially in the first 25 minutes against Prescott. Sr. Josh Jumbeck finally came off the bench and hit a nice step-back triple which sparked confidence in everyone. Prescott's lead was up to around 26 early in the second half, and they brought it back to nine points until they were forced to foul in the final minute-and-a-half. G-E-T's shooting in the second half was probably close to 75%, which was miles better than the first half where they didn't hit a single jumper - from deep or mid-range. If they bring that confidence from the last nine minutes of that game, this will be a very high-scoring match.
O-F @ West Salem - O-F is 12-1 right now, and with their efforts they are ranked ninth in D4. Their only loss is by three points to undefeated and third-ranked (D4) Clear Lake. They did only beat BRF by eight points, but that was their first game of the year, so they are probably a much different team. West Salem took the lead over the Coulee conference, and they are definitely better than their record. I wouldn't be surprised to see a close game as both teams are very capable of scoring.
PdC @ Westby - PdC has done quite well so far with only two losses. A couple of their wins include Aquinas, which Westby beat by a larger margin, and Luther, which Westby will face for the first time in the Coulee Classic this weekend. I don't think the SWC is as good as previous years, so I wouldn't be surprised to see either team win.
Viroqua @ Mauston - This really is the tale of two different teams. Viroqua hasn't done great while Mauston has done pretty good. To start the season, they were pretty overrated and were ranked for a while. They had a nice win streak going until a recent two-point loss to the Dells, who were also overrated earlier in the season. Mauston should have an easy win here.

Thursday, January 24:
Arcadia @ Tomah - I thought Tomah would be better than how they've done so far, but they do play in one of the toughest conferences in the state. I don't think there is any way that Arcadia can take this game if their previous games are any indication. Upset has been the word of the season for the Coulee conference, but I don't see that happening in this non-conference showdown.
BRF @ G-E-T - This game was supposed to occur last week Monday, but it was postponed due to icy road conditions. BRF lost this match-up earlier in the year after G-E-T was making it rain in threes. As I have mentioned several times, G-E-T's consistency in shooting, or lack there of, is rough to watch. If they find their shot, this should be an easy game.
Luther @ Logan - Another Coulee vs MVC match-up. Logan has strung a few good games together with a one-point win at G-E-T, a 23-point win over Aquinas, and a 13-point loss to reining D2 state champs in Kaukauna. Against G-E-T, big man Maguire Werner was huge in beating G-E-T in a near come-from-behind win for the Red Hawks. Jacksun Hamilton has also played a big part in their recent games. This team is pretty tough to beat for teams lacking in size, but that isn't the case for the Luther Knights. I expect a very close game from these teams.

Saturday, January 26: The Coulee Classic at the La Crosse Center
Another year brings another Coulee Classic showdown. This season's match-ups aren't as big as some of the girls' games, but they should still be exciting to watch.
Luther @ Westby (10:30 AM) - Just like the other games, this the first meeting of these teams, and there is no better place than for it than the Coulee Classic. This is probably the most interesting boys game as both teams have two conference losses. Westby has at times brought a very good offense, but I'm not sure they can play with this Luther team that features a lot of verticality.
Arcadia @ G-E-T (1:30 PM) - Arcadia certainly hasn't had the season they wanted and have struggled to compete with the rest of the teams in the conference. G-E-T is trending in a bad direction, but I don't think Arcadia can take a game off of G-E-T. I wouldn't be surprised to see a close first half, but I think G-E-T will probably hold off the Raiders.
BRF @ Viroqua (5:00 PM) - BRF is another team that could be better than their record. They have a nice upset-win over West Salem. Viroqua also has an upset win against G-E-T. I really think this will be a back-and-forth game. This match-up might be decided in the final couple of possessions.
La Crescent @ West Salem (8:00 PM) - La Crescent has had a nice season so far with a difficult schedule, especially in cross-conference matches against Three Rivers-West teams. Both of these teams have lost to Onalaska by a decent amount. Despite being a non-conference game, this is probably the second-most exciting boys game the Coulee Classic has to offer.

My Predictions:
North Crawford @ Viroqua

Fall Creek @ Arcadia
G-E-T @ Neillsville - I know my bias shows, but I'm going with my Red Hawks in a high-scoring game.
O-F @ West Salem - I think West Salem will grind out a close and hard-fought W against O-F, who in my opinion hasn't had as tough of a schedule.
PdC @ Westby
Viroqua @ Mauston

Arcadia @ Tomah
BRF @ G-E-T
Luther @ Logan

Luther @ Westby
Arcadia @ G-E-T
BRF @ Viroqua
La Crescent @ West Salem
