Final Regular Season Standings:
Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau: 12-10, 9-3
Onalaska Luther: 13-9, 9-3
West Salem: 10-12, 8-4
Westby: 15-6, 8-4
Viroqua: 8-14, 5-7
Black River Falls: 4-18, 2-10
Arcadia: 4-16, 1-11

Tuesday, February 26 Regional Quarterfinals:
9. Viroqua @ 8. A-F - A-F finished the regular season with a 7-12 record and finished 4th in the South Central conference. Both of these teams have had their ups and downs, and they seem to be pretty evenly matched. There aren't too many common opponents between the two, so I don't know what to expect other than a close game.
10. BRF @ 7. Altoona - It's been a rough year for the BRF Tigers as they have gone from outright Coulee champs to finishing 2nd-to-last and losing their last 11 games; however, inconsistency has defined this Altoona squad, so if BRF pulls it together, they could sneak by with an upset. It should be close.
11. Arcadia @ 6. West Salem - Arcadia finished at the bottom of the Coulee while West Salem improved a lot since last season and finished tied for 3rd. The Panthers have had a couple of tough losses to end the season including G-E-T, Westby, and Mauston. This should be an easy win for them to gain back their confidence.
12. Nekoosa @ 5. G-E-T - Nekoosa has struggled for many seasons to have a good team. The Papermakers ended with just a 3-18 record and tied for last in the SCC. G-E-T has been doing very well recently, so this should be another easy win for them.

10 Cashton @ 7. Luther - Cashton finished with a decent 13-7 record, but they were given the 10 seed in a very competitive section in D4. They also play mostly D5 teams, so that doesn't help their case for a higher seed. Luther has finished the season strong, and a 7 seed seems very low for this squad. Again, this section is insanely talented, so it really isn't that bad. I expect Luther to dominate this game.

Friday, March 1 Regional Semifinals:
8. A-F/9. Viroqua @ 1. Stratford - I think A-F will squeak by with a close win and will travel to Stratford. Stratford has ended the season undefeated and are ranked 5 in D3. This should be an easy win for the Tigers of Stratford.
7. Altoona/10. BRF @ 2. Wis Dells - I think BRF will win in a very close game, which means they travel to the Dells for a rematch from the start of the season. I don't think they will come close to the Dells, though.
6. West Salem/11. Arcadia @ 3. Mauston - West Salem should beat Arcadia easily and force a rematch between these two teams. West Salem kept it close last time, and I expect another close meeting at Mauston.
5. G-E-T/12. Nekoosa @ 4. Westby - G-E-T should beat Nekoosa easily, setting up another rematch between these teams. Westby beat G-E-T in OT in their last meeting after G-E-T's turnovers killed them in the second half. Westby didn't end the season as they wanted, but they are still a great team. This should be a very good game to watch.

7. Luther/10. Cashton @ 2. New Glarus - I think this is where Luther's season ends. Luther probably could have beaten the 4, 5, and 6 seeds in this section, but I don't think they can take on New Glarus successfully. It could be close, though.

Saturday, March 2 Regional Finals:
3. Mauston/6. West Salem/11. Arcadia @ 2. Wis Dells/7. Altoona/10. BRF - I really think there will be a West Salem @ the Dells match-up. I'm not sure if West Salem will have enough in the tank to win two upset road games, but they could keep it close if they keep their focus.
4. Westby/5. G-E-T/12. Nekoosa @ 1. Stratford/8. A-F/9. Viroqua - This will be G-E-T's second road game in two days where they travel over an hour and a half if they can beat Westby. I think they will, and traveling to Stratford will be a test for them. They held a 2-point lead against this team before the half before they went cold not only from 3, but from inside, missing layups they otherwise make. It'll be another good one.

3. Min Point/6. Cuba City/11. Boscobel @ 2. New Glarus/7. Luther/10. Cashton - I don't think we will see the Luther Knights in this game, but if we do, I don't see them beating Mineral Point.

My Predictions:
9. Viroqua @ 8. Adams-Friendship
10. BRF @ 7. Altoona
11. Arcadia @ 6. West Salem
12. Nekoosa @ 5. G-E-T
10. Cashton @ 7. Luther

5. G-E-T @ 4. Westby
6. West Salem @ 3. Mauston
10. BRF @ 2. Wis Dells
8. A-F @ 1. Stratford
7. Luther @ 2. New Glarus

6. West Salem @ 2. Wis Dells
5. G-E-T @ 1. Stratford

Possible Interesting Match-ups:
5. G-E-T @ 4. Westby, 6. West Salem @ 3. Mauston, 5. G-E-T @ 1. Stratford - All of these are great rematches of games that have happened within the past couple of weeks. G-E-T will play Westby for the third time this season, and if their offense is rolling, they will win easily. West Salem is the same way. They lost to Mauston recently in a close game, but if they can get going early, they should win. G-E-T @ Stratford, if G-E-T can win, will be a very good game. Again, G-E-T's offense has been struggling with consistency all season, but it looks like they are starting to get it down at the right time. Stratford is a very good team, so this will require them to probably play their best game.

Regional Quarterfinal Results:
9. Viroqua 37, 8. A-F 49 - A-F will travel to Stratford as they look for a chance at an upset
10. BRF 44, 7. Altoona 65 - Altoona’s season has been inconsistent, but they got a decent win over BRF. The Railroaders travel to the Dells on Friday.
11. Arcadia 47, 6. West Salem 62 - This game started out back and forth with plenty of missed shots by both teams. West Salem was able to pull away in the second have for an easy win. West Salem moves on to play at Mauston for redemption of a close loss just last week.
12. Nekoosa 47, 5. G-E-T 75 - G-E-T was able to get a big win despite missing several easy and wide open layups. They got by with it in this one, but if they want to make a deep run, they have to clean that up. G-E-T travels to Westby on Friday where they hope to keep their season alive.

Regional Semifinal Results:
5. G-E-T 46, 4. Westby 37 - G-E-T got off to a quick 20+ point lead at the half, but in the second half their offense went a little cold while their defense stayed mostly consistent. They went on to play at Stratford. Westby's season ended with a 15-7 record after a very great season.
6. West Salem 63, 3. Mauston 83 - This game started out much closer, but in the second half, Mauston took over the game. West Salem ends their great season with an 11-13 record including several non-conference tests. Mauston moves on to play at the Dells.
8. A-F 42, 1. Stratford 57 - This game was very close until Stratford finally got going in the final couple of minutes. They host G-E-T for some Regional final hardware.

7. Luther 47, 2. New Glarus 84 - Luther couldn't catch a break in this one after ending the season on a nice little run. The Knights end the season as co-champs of the Coulee with a record of 14-10.

Regional Final Results:
5. G-E-T 27, 1. Stratford 63 - What an unfortunate way to end the season for the Red Hawks. I've said all year that their offense struggles with consistency, and that's what killed them. They hit only 2 3's the entire game while missing seemingly easy layups and put backs. They also struggled with the length that Stratford features, losing just about every loose ball, rebound, etc. The co-conference champs end their season 14-11 and were the final Coulee team to go down in the post season. Stratford plays Wisconsin Dells at the Dells in a sectional semifinal. Kind of ridiculous that the Dells get a home game in what is supposed to be a neutral site for sectionals in my opinion.
