Still no one with a perfect week (yet), but amped0808 and cettt were the closest last week with 8-1 marks; amped being the only person to correctly take Adams-Friendship over Lake Mills and cettt the only person to correctly call Nekoosa dumping Cambridge.

Standings after Week 3
1. cettt: 24-7
T2. ashthemagnificent: 23-8
T2. card80fan: 23-8
T2. amped0808: 23-8
T5. wihsfootball: 22-9
T5. capcon: 22-9
T5. bcushing: 22-9
T5. thecrackerjack: 22-9
T10. importfromil: 20-11
T10. whfan202: 20-11

We now have a leader in the standings with cettt taking over at the top, but a logjam still looming behind. whfan and I are 4 games off the pace now, and while it's still early we're getting into the point in the season where 4 games is going to be a lot to make up.

Fortunately, we still have one more week of non-conference play to help.

Week 4 Schedule
Westfield (0-3) at Belleville (1-2)
New Glarus/Monticello (0-3) at Lake Mills (2-1)
Cambridge (2-1) at Lakeside Lutheran (3-0)
Waterloo (2-1) at Lodi (3-0)
Mauston (0-3) at Marshall (1-2)
Luther Prep (3-0) at Nekoosa (1-2)
Columbus (3-0) at Wautoma (2-1)
Poynette (3-0) at Wisconsin Dells (0-3)
Adams-Friendship (2-1) at Wisconsin Heights (0-3)

Belleville in a close one
Lake Mills will bounce back here. NGM needs to figure out how to play D
Lakeside by 21. Owens or not Lakeside will out man them
Lodi by 31
Marshall will rebound and get the win here
Nekoosa will hand prep their first loss. Will be a close game
Columbus. If they continue to get off to slow starts it could cost them. That may happen here but still Columbus by 10
Something tells me Wisconsin Dells will rise up. Dells by 7
A-F by 28 Heights is just not a good team.

Westfield at Belleville- This is sort of a toss up game because both teams haven't played to well this season. I'm going with my gut feeling here though and choosing Belleville by 7.

New Glarus/Monticello at Lake Mills- With Lake Mills losing last week means they are hungry to get back in the winning side before conference play starts up. NGM not having Binger is really starting to show how much he meant to the team. But NGM does have Trey Taylor who is leading the conference in rushing right now. So if he has a good game and they play defense well I think they can pull it out. NGM by 7

Cambridge at Lakeside Lutheran- This is the game of the week in my eyes. Main reason being Owens is returning at a great time and a big test for him and the Bluejays. A year ago I would take Cambridge over LL but this year LL's offense is just to good to be stopped at this point. Hoping Cambridge can win but taking LL by 14. I'll be at this game giving updates.

Waterloo at Lodi- Loo may give Lodi a game for a few quarters but in the end Lodi is a D4 powerhouse and will run all over Loo Friday night. Still wondering why Gallitz isn't punishing teams with his arm this year. Lodi by 28.

Mauston at Marshall- This game may be closer than some think. Yes, Mauston is 0-3 but both teams have been struggling on offense at this point in the season. Right now Marshall has one big weapon in Mares so if he gets the ball thrown to him a lot then they should pull out with a win. Marshall by 7

Luther Prep at Nekoosa- Nekoosa put a whooping on Cambridge last week and it sure shocked me. But then again I think Prep is the real deal this year. They have a high explosive offense and I am going to take them by 7

Columbus at Wautoma- Columbus is another team in the north who has a chance at a title shot. I think their offense is great both rushing and passing and their defense is really good too. Cards by 14

Poynette at Wisconsin Dells- Poynette gets the easy win once again against a poor team. Going to be difficult on who too chose once conference play comes around. Pumas by 21

Adams-Friendship at Wisconsin Heights- 8 man football sounds good right about now for Heights. AF by 28.

I think this week's schedule is intriguing for a few games. Anyone who hits all 9 probably should get bonus points ... but instead, they'll have to settle for bragging rights.

Westfield at Belleville - The Pioneers have had chances to win a game or two, and didn't; at some point, that feeds on itself. Not that I think Belleville has it going this year, but it's at least got a win right now and it's playing at home. Wildcats by 6.

New Glarus/Monticello at Lake Mills - before the season started, this looked to be a pretty good game. Now, the Glarner Knights have major issues on defense; a game where Collin Moen is the opposing QB is not is the game to get those solved. L-Cats by 30.

Cambridge at Lakeside Lutheran - I didn't have the hosts 3-0 going into this game; then again, I didn't have the visitors getting waxed last week. It'll be a battle of running backs as Owens makes his season debut for the Bluejays, but in the end DeNoyer has clearly made an impact on the guys around him. Warriors by 14.

Waterloo at Lodi - the question here is whether the Pirates can become the first opposing team to score on Lodi this season. I think so, but it won't matter much. Blue Devils by 28.

Mauston at Marshall - it would be easy to say the Golden Eagles have had a tough opening schedule, and they have ... but there's still no sign that they're going to claim a W - especially on the road. Cardinals by 14.

Luther Prep at Nekoosa - OK, I dramatically underrated the Papermakers last week. I still think they're not winning this one; you can make an argument that if Cambridge is at 100%, last week's game changes completely - and Luther Prep is at 100% and rolling with confidence. Paulsen & Co. get to 4-0 for the first time since 2003. Phoenix by 18.

Columbus at Wautoma - the Hornets piled up 511 yards of offense against a porous NG-M squad; Columbus is much better defensively. The longer this stays close, the better a chance the hosts have of sneaking one out ... but I'll say the visitors survive a pretty stiff test here - one they need going into conference play. Cardinals by 4.

Poynette at Wisconsin Dells - if the Chiefs had numbers on the squad, they'd have a better shot ... but they don't, they gave up 539 yards on the ground at Waterloo, and Poynette's Tanner Kerr has shown an ability to run the ball. Pumas by 18.

Adams-Friendship at Wisconsin Heights - a couple years back, this would have been a matchup of two bad teams. In 2015, one of them has improved and the other is probably counting down days to go to 8-man. Green Devils by 27.

Westfield at Belleville - Taking Westfield to get the win here, I still don't buy Belleville as very legit defensively.

NG-M at Lake Mills - The L-Cats recover and beat the Knights... who still are searching for answers in the passing game with no Binger.

Cambridge at Lakeside - Owens being back is nice to see, but I don't think it's going to translate to a win here for the Blue Jays.

Waterloo at Lodi - Loo will break the shutout streak that Lodi's been on, but it's still going to be a running clock.

Mauston at Marshall - Mauston looks like they're going to be in the basement in the SCC again.

Luther Prep at Nekoosa - A test for Prep here. 3-0 and coming up against a team that emphatically got their first win. I'm inclined to take the Phoenix, but I lack the cajones considering they're on the road.

Columbus at Wautoma - Oh, wow, this one is going to be a good one. CBus rolls on for now, though.

Poynette at Wisconsin Dells - Poynette screams darkhorse and at the least, spoiler. 4-0 for the Pumas heading into conference.

Adams-Friendship at Wisconsin Heights - Heights' biggest Achilles heel is lack of size in the trenches, killer for a team that's predicated on passing. They won't win here, or probably the rest of the year, I think.

Westfield at Belleville- west fields played better teams then Belleville. Westfield by 14
New garlus/Monticello at lakemills- this will be an interesting game, moen will do what he does and make plays. I think new garlus/Monticello will get their first win and run all over lake mills not so great defense. New garlus/Monticello by 7
Cambridge at lakeside- the moment all of Cambridge is waiting for the return of josh Owens. I think Owens is gonna be rusty, and not as good this year after his "interesting summer". Denoyer is gonna give cambridges defense a true test this week. Lakeside by 14
Waterloo at Lodi- lodi will want to have the starters out by the end of the 3rd quarter, with prep coming up next week. Hopefully Waterloo can snap lodi's shut out streak. Lodi by35
Mauston at Marshall- this is a tough one to pick, it can go either way. It will be a close game for sure, Mauston won't make the trip to not play good. Mauston by 7
Prep at nekoosa- prep's playing well, they come to every game fired up and they won't start slow. Prep by 14
Columbus at wautoma- another good game this week, Columbus will come pounding the rock with their triple option.wautomas a good team too, they will have to shut down or contain Columbus's running game somewhat to win this game. It could happen but I don't think it will this week at least. Columbus by 7
Poynette at Wisconsin dells- the dells would of won last week haven't their good running back got cramps. The dells fights hard and will surprise teams on how good they are despite no depth and numbers. Poynettes horse shoe will fall out this week. dells by 14
Adams-friendship at heights- green Devils will come up and dominate this game. Green Devils by 21

Westfield (0-3) at Belleville (1-2): Road.

New Glarus/Monticello (0-3) at Lake Mills (2-1): Division strength clearly points to the Capitol North.

Cambridge (2-1) at Lakeside Lutheran (3-0): Cambridge is the next victim to be DeNoyer'd.

Waterloo (2-1) at Lodi (3-0): Lodi has looked strong. They will get tested in the North.

Mauston (0-3) at Marshall (1-2): Could go the other way.

Luther Prep (3-0) at Nekoosa (1-2): Because why not?

Columbus (3-0) at Wautoma (2-1): Prolly the best of the South Central vs Capitol matchups this week.

Poynette (3-0) at Wisconsin Dells (0-3): Running clock.

Adams-Friendship (2-1) at Wisconsin Heights (0-3): See above.

Like the South Central vs Capitol matchups. Way better than the South Central vs SWC (who is getting hammered by the Coulee.)

BTW ... 5 of the 6 C-North teams are currently ranked in the coaches poll.

Lodi - 1st, D4
Columbus - 6th, D4
Poynette - 6th, D5
Lakeside Lutheran - 8th, D5
Luther Prep - 9th, D4

Lake Mills was 10th in the D4 poll last week before losing to Adams-Friendship.

There's going to be at least one really good team that gets left out of the playoffs.
